Off The Enchantment-Some Observations

1- The welcome aboard photos are no longer dated. Just a generic "Welcome to Port Canaveral". Makes it a little more difficult for those keeping their photos in order.

2. No sail away pool buffet from Nassau. Only snacks in the Windjammer. There may have been rain in the forecast but this is the first time this has happened on any of my cruises.

3. Finally for those who complained about the basket of cheese, crackers and nuts, it has been replaced by a package of butter shortbread cookies and toasted almonds.

On our last cruise we had a generic sail away picture and did not care for it. We like to get the dated sail away picture with our coupon as a remembrance of the cruise.

We generally don't bother sitting for any other pictures.

I agree with your comment about the basket. There were so many negative comments, I wondered how long it would take before RCCL we get rid of them.

Thanks.

M

Must have been an error. We are D+ and were on the Enchantment a week ago and got the cookies.

Not really a big deal. But they also don't give casino royal tee shirts or trophies to the winners of the blackjack tournament, They gave out plain dinner rolls in the diamond departure lounge (no butter or jam to be found) .

We had a great time thanks to the cruise director and staff. Our stateroom attendant did a fantastic job. The ship was clean.

But everything else was not up to par.

Don't know if it's fleetwide but in chops we had the shrimp cocktail and they gave us 3 huge (freshwater) shrimp. They were dry and tasteless. The sides were not what we had in the past (order one and share) they were very small portions. We had to ask for more. Even the desserts were not what we were used to.

Lots of talk about the new Chops menu. Many do not care for the offerings.

No sail away party buffet out of Nassau!

Bring back the Monarch!:D

We did have the sailaway and it was fun, but the food offered left a lot to be desired. I agree with you on the Monarch that was a class act.

On the other hand if it keeps up there will be plenty more $109 fares

Changes we noticed on that same sailing:

slots in casino mostly $1 or 5 cents. Lost alot in first nite never returned.

Crew that lead The Quest acted like it was the first time he had ever done it. But thanks to a great audience. Fun as usual!!!

We enjoyed the new chops menu and thought the food quality was better than our last freedom cruise.

Nice live music in boleros but didnt enjoy pianist. Production school on last nite, very good!!

Always enjoy a cruise but i must agree, I miss monarch. Cant really put my finger on it but enchantment doesnt match up.

Love those rates though. Hoping for one for the end of next month-

They can keep the cookies:)

I was on this same cruise...D+...and my welcome back package was ONLY the cookies...no nuts...so look's like even more downsizing ahead..

This was my 3rd time on Enchantment...1st time from Port Canaveral...over all for the price it was an ok cruise...food in the WJ was never really HOT...and a couple times I had pasta dishes that were down right cold...and not because they were a salad...our service in the MDR was excellent...cabin attendant was fantastic...but don't book inside cabin 7631 unless you are a night owl...there must be a speaker or something from the Schooner Bar right under the bed...as each evening I could loudly hear the piano player...there was also a weird metallic scraping, bumping, dragging sounds at odd hours of the night...never could figure out what that was...wasn't constant...but enough to interupt a light sleeper...

Also just off EN yesterday. Pianist in Schooner plays his own rendition of songs, lounge not busy at all.

Got cookies and cokes as welcome back gifts, liked the cookies, they were butter shortbread. One package of cookies for 3 people in the room, but only 2 had the same address...........don't know why the third person was not included.

Chops new menu, some good, some not so good. Shrimp was stringy and tasteless, loved the truffle corn, missed the parmesan potatoes, missed the New York Cheesecake, but liked the Red Velvet cake kept from old menu.

Ran thru Quest like they were trying to get it over with.

Ship in good condition, we had a JS, loved the new curtains, but balcony needed paint as paint was flaking off the railings and doors.

Ships crew was outstanding, MTD worked out great, had great servers and food was pretty good.

Over 700 D, D+ an Pinnacle onboard, used the VCL as overflow, first night mobbed, the rest of the time easy to find a seat.

We found lots of penny slots in the casino, in addition to quarter and dollar slots. Casino was very busy most of the time.

We live in the Northeast, so we never were able to take advantage of the low rates people from Florida cruising the Monarch and Majesty used to get, but if they have those $109 rates again for the EN, I don't know how they can keep up the quality.

No pastry in departure lounge for D D+ and Pinnacle, but that is the second time we have experienced that. On BR transatlantic ending in May 14, there was only coffee and water in departure lounge. Miss that perk, as we often don't make the WJ on the last morning.

Embarkation and debarkation very quick and easy. Arrived at pier at 11:15, were onboard in 5 minutes. Number 2 called at 8:30, and we were off in less than 10 minutes.
