Star's Dry Dock in Portland, Oregon

The Star is about 2 nautical miles South of the Willamette River at the moment. If you are anywhere near Kelly Point Park, you should be able to see her coming downriver now.

Just heard from the Portland Fox TV affiliate (KPTV) and they are planning to run a story about the Star's arrival in town. So check out their website later to see if they post a story. I did send a news tip to the NBC affiliate (KGW) and the ABC affiliate (KATU), so maybe something will appear on their sites too.

That Bermuda Dent is very visible!!! :D:D

Ya had to notice that cute beauty dimple !

On another note the STAR arrived a tad bit late hope that doesn't screw up the

return to service schedule - but boy she was a speed boat going upstream the

crew no doubt didn't notice - prepping all the projects for the dry-dock crew to

take over.

Went to Kelley Point Park where the Columbia and Willamette Rivers meet and watched the Star come in to Portland. It was a beautiful day - sunny and upper 50's. First, here is a picture of our beautiful Mt. Hood. Not as much snow as usual because we've (sorry) had a fairly dry and warm winter.

GREAT PICS! Thanks for sharing!

Excited to be back on the STAR in June!

You are welcome:) We've been on the Star four times - will be on her sister the Dawn in October. Couldn't resist making the hour drive to see her come in. There were quite a few people at the park today - seems to be a popular place for walking or letting dogs play in the water. LOL some of them were very surprised when the Star came into view.

You have a wonderful cruise.

There is a nice article in the Oregonian that includes a 30-picture photo gallery of the Star's arrival in Portland to Vigor Industries:

Notice what happens to the tenders in pictures 11 and 12. Hope they use them to get into downtown Portland under all the bridges. It sure would be a grand entrance into the Rose City and a sight to see. But only when the crew is done stripping out that old, memory filled carpeting.
