Sail A Way-Best Place To Be On The Equinox?

We are leaving soon on the Equinox out of Ft. Lauderdale. Where is the best place(s) to be on the ship during sail a way?

Sunset Bar on all Celebrity ships for me at sailaway.

Open air bar at aft of ship, just behind the buffet area. You have a 270 degree view. My favorite area of the ship period. Can't understand why more people aren't there, but fine with me. Love it.

We will be at the Sunset bar aft of the buffet for sail away in just a little over a month.

Sunset bar is indeed the place to be but there is really not a lot to see going out of Ft Lauderdale. It is a quick sail down the channel and you are out into the ocean.

Sunset bar is great, but sometimes, especially on the first sail away, we like to just celebrate with Champagne on our Veranda.

 

The big question is this...

 

Do you begin celebrating Sail-a-way BEFORE or AFTER unpacking your luggage? :eek:

Sunset Bar for sure and if it gets too crowded, the next deck down, aft of the buffet restaurant, has ample deck space as well.

Taken Feb.2 sail away Equinox from the Sunset Bar. Late leaving because of new gym equip being loaded. Queen Victoria left ahead of us. Have a great cruise.

Yes! Sail aways on the verandah of an AFT cabin. Best place on the ship! :D

Sunset Bar is actually on Deck 15 Aft, Oceanview Bar is aft of the Buffet on 14. Prefer Sunset Bar by a long shot if weather is good. But then again, I like t mingle with people.

 

Oceanview allows you to go into the Oceanview Café if weather is not so "hot".

Best place for sail a way is from your balcony nice and peaceful with your loved one and cold beverage

We enjoy sail away on the Lawn Club with a glass of wine or champagne in hand. Great views from both sides of the ship!

We usually do sailaway from the deck looking down onto the dance floor, people dancing, etc. Love the pizazz/excitement of leaving port.

 

However, this past December on the Equinox we were a bit disappointed at the lack of enthusiasm from the band that was playing. No more than 2 couples were dancing during sailaway.

 

This year we will head to Sailaway Bar instead. Do they have music playing at Sailaway?

we once did sailaway from the sky observation lounge when the weather was yucky. bar service was good. we got there a few minutes early, had our pick of seats, but there was a crowd once we began moving.

 

my preference is to be outside holding a drink with an umbrella!

Is there any good place on the bow/front of the ship?

 

There is on the Eclipse and Silhouette, so I assume on the Equinox as well: on Deck 15 (and on Deck 16, which is a little bit recessed). What I love particularly about being forward on this deck is no barrier above the rail. Just great for photography.

 

If the weather is bad but you still want to get the forward view, you can head down to the Sky Lounge.
