GT38 Posted March 1, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 1, 2015 I'm sailing on the Liberty on 9 March. I just realized that several colleges may be on spring break. I hope I didn't schedule my relaxing cruise at the wrong time. Any advise?
Clarea Posted March 1, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 1, 2015 Don't try to smuggle alcohol onboard. They will be extra vigilant.

lahlah57 Posted March 1, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 1, 2015 Get your camera ready.....guys carrying drunk girls back on board and buddies shoulder to shoulder guiding their drunk selves back on board. Lets just say the ship toilets will endure some heavy activity. Hope you are not on a lower deck:eek:
Merion_Mom Posted March 1, 2015 #7 Share Posted March 1, 2015 Some secondary schools are on spring break, too. We are expecting hundreds of underage humans next week on board the Serenade! :p ;) :D
cb at sea Posted March 1, 2015 #8 Share Posted March 1, 2015 (edited) There are always plenty of "relaxing" places on the ship...no worries! You probably won't notice any difference from any other cruise. Edited March 1, 2015 by cb at sea
DonnaK Posted March 1, 2015 #9 Share Posted March 1, 2015 Oh stop scaring the OP! The college where I teach was on Spring break this past week, and the college that my daughter attends is on Spring break the week the first week of April. Don't sweat it - Liberty is large enough for you to find many quiet places to relax and have fun.

I am sure that he is an experienced cruiser. ;)

I hope I didn't schedule my relaxing cruise at the wrong time. Any advise? Actually there are 137 US Colleges on spring break the week of 3/7. Don't fret however, ships always sail at capacity these days so it is not like it will be extra crowded or anything. Enjoy your cruise! :)

wendychloecruiser Posted March 1, 2015 #13 Share Posted March 1, 2015 I was on a spring break cruise ONCE, unintentionally, and my nickname at the table was grandma...and I was 28. It was awful. Booze cruise doesn't even begin to describe it.
reallyitsmema Posted March 1, 2015 #14 Share Posted March 1, 2015 Will I see R rated or X rate activities? It depends on the kids on board, no way of knowing if you are going to have rowdy college students or tame college students. My 70+ yr old mother usually cruises during spring break. NCL was nuts, Freedom of the Seas wasn't too bad. I know my niece and nephew will be on Allure next week but they are pretty mellow for the most part. OfTheSeasCruiser Posted March 1, 2015 #22 Share Posted March 1, 2015 Longer the cruise, less college kids? I'm considering a 10 night Serenade cruise Mar 18, 2016. Do you think I'd see a lot of wild kids on a cruise like that?
lahlah57 Posted March 1, 2015 #23 Share Posted March 1, 2015 I wouldn't think a 10 day. They usually stick to 4 to 7 day cruises!

CruisinCons Posted March 1, 2015 #25 Share Posted March 1, 2015 Most of the high schools in NJ are off the week before or after Easter, depending on when Passover falls. Those are the cruises to avoid if you don't want to be around a lot of kids. Especially the ones sailing out of Bayonne.
