Ok, finally the sun has been shining in New York, the days are longer, and I am about to make the final payment for my Breakaway cruise in July. I am a teacher, so these events are getting me into a happy Summer state-of-mind. The CC boards and all of the changes have been giving me a bit of anxiety lately, so I wanted to start this thread that will hopefully be full of only positivity and excitement :D. Tell me what you're most looking forward to on your next cruise. Please, for the love of everything decent in this world, keep it positive. There are plenty of threads for melancholy, rage, and general snark right now, and yes, I have contributed to a few, but now let's just all get excited for a vacation!

I'll start:

1. the waterslides and ropes course! I have never been on a mega-ship before.

2. going back to Bermuda...one of my favorite places to which I have ever travelled

3. promo UBP...'nuff said :p

Overall -

1) traveling around on my vacation time especially my birthday

2) eating outside while seeing the port or ocean

3) having a drink while on the waterfront at night

4) partaking in my favorite activity at the beach or sundeck - 0 swimming /playing in waterfront

For this year's trip-

1) 12 days of cruising[emoji11]

2) San Juan as birthday port cruise

3) St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Thomas, Barbados

4) Sailing on the Breakaway

Next year's trip-

1) 21 days (3 B2B 7 day trips) [emoji7]

2) Nassua as birthday - I going to have myself conch fritters (yes, I know exactly what I want to eat on that day a year from now [emoji52]. Its Nassau)

3) Tortola (done properly, 2015 ship leaving at 2:30pm and I am not getting up that early in the moring to go anywhere) and St. Thomas again

4) Going to Roatan, Harvest Cayex Costa Maya, Cozumel - TWICE

5) Sailing on the Escape (once) and Getaway (twice - hope they have friend yuca and/or tostones with fresh garlic and a Corona/Rum/Sangria - I'm Hispanic [emoji1] )

I am truly looking forward to these 2 trips (I'm counting the B2B as just one) - Its the 1st time ever, I've been away for more than a week (usually a week or less). No work, no rush, complete disconnect from the world - close to heaven on earth I'll ever get.[emoji7]

(1) Fresh made crepes at the buffet each evening after MDR meal.

(2) Sitting on my balcony enjoying the sea breeze and a good book.

(3) getting away from my ill behaved puppy for a week. I'll miss her when I'm gone and be ready to see her again by the end, but for now, I could use a break. :p

Here are my top 10 - in no certain order

1. Eating together with friends and family in the MDR each evening (when I don't have to cook or clean up, which is a bonus).

2. A new ship to explore! (Breakaway)

3. The best sleeping conditions in the world (inside stateroom where it is dark and cool, and I can sometimes feel the gentle movement of the ship).

4. The drink of the day

5. Bermuda

6. Being on deck in the evening. I love listening to the waves and viewing the sunset or night sky

7. Shuffleboard

8. Nickel slot machines

9. A lounger, with a book in one hand, a cold drink in the other, with no pressure to do anything or go anywhere.

10. Having someone make my bed for me every day (it's the little things in life, right?)

  3. Cagney's for breakfast
  4. Lunch at the buffet - salad and pasta
  5. Being rocked to sleep by the ocean
  6. The Monkey King slot machine
  7. Being able to see different places, without having to unpack
  8. Sitting on the balcony reading a book
  9. Having a massage or two at the spa
  10. Not having to cook my own meals, not having to clean the dishes, not having to make my bed

1. First time on NCL Sun

2. First time on a cruise longer than 7 days

3. First time in an aft mini suite

4. First time cruising the Mexican Riviera and visiting new ports

5. First time eating dinner at Moderno

6. Sitting on my balcony being mesmerized by the look and sound of the waves

7. Eating at River Café in Puerto Vallarta

8. Choosing one port day to stay onboard and enjoy quiet time exploring the ship and sunbathing while most other people go ashore

9. The UBP promo and to try new drinks I would never otherwise order

10. Enjoying and appreciating that I can go on this cruise in the first place. I have a new perspective on life after recovering from serious surgeries. Life is too short to sweat the small stuff.

1) Visiting a couple of new ports including the Panama Canal

2) Soft serve ice cream whenever I want (or from lunch to bed times)

3) Eating breakfast and lunch (and sometimes dinner) outside at the Great Outdoors

4) Having someone make my bed and bring me ice every day

5) The little putting contests - goofy golf

6) Daily Trivia

7) The cheese rolls at Moderno (which have become my new reason to cruise)

8) Discovering the great entertainment every night including those silly game shows and later adult shows

9) Being rocked to sleep every night

Finally, looking forward to not being on the Epic and getting back to a smaller ship. I do love the relaxing daily cruise rhythm of a smaller ship.

1. Finally being able to cross Alaskan cruise off of my bucket list...I was afraid the glaciers would be gone before I got there!

2. Spending a kid free week with my wife,on our long overdue honeymoon, celebrating our 7 th anniversary!

3. Using the UBP to try a few drinks ( especially " the classics, like a martini)I always wondered about but never wanted to pay for only to possibly not like.

4. Standing at the back of the ship and watching the long wake with a cup of coffee in the early morning ( and above mentioned drink) at night....my coworkers know that this is my happy place I go to when I'm stressed at work!

5. Maybe a little fun in the casino,as our last two cruises have been on Disney, with no casino.

6. Completely winging it the entire week with no worry about when the kids are tired,hungry,bored,etc...

Sailing on our first mega ship (Getaway) and chilling in the Haven. Enjoying the spa. Using our UBP to try virgin cocktails other than Piña Colada and Banana Daiquiri and enjoying our cabana on GSC.

Ohhhh! The Getaway was my first choice for our trip next month, but the airfare from Oregon never dropped ,and it was just about doubling the cost of the vacation, hence our decision to do Alaska this year.

Enjoy every second of your trip!!

I'm looking forward to my very first cruise to Bermuda!!! I have been saying I'm going to give Bermuda a try for at least the last 2 years, but just now getting around to it. We will be there in 24 days+ Woo Hoo.

I am also getting anxiety over all the recent discussions around the boards with all of the changes taking place with NCL. I don't find them positives and I think the communication with these changes have been pretty darn crappy. However, most of them do not really pertain to us and they are things we "normally" don't do. So, I will be anxious to find out how this all works on my upcoming cruise.

I'm also excited to be trying out the Dawn since I have never been on this ship yet (but have been on her sister ship the Star a few years ago). :)

Thank you, Dorhead1230, for starting a Positive-toned thread. It's such a ray of sunshine in the bleak, negative vibe which has permeated this NCL forum lately. (I confess I also posted re the recent changes, too, but tried not to be too much of a "Debbie-Downer").

We are looking most forward to returning to New Orleans before our next cruise which will be our 2nd time on the Dawn.

After finally making Platinum, we are also happy to have earned a few more perks, including dinner at Le Bistro with wine and getting a free bag of laundry. And having the UBP will make for a more festive atmosphere with family and friends...;)

I'm a teacher too, and the weather in NY is also getting me into summer mode! Here are all the things I look forward to on our July cruise to Bermuda on the Breakaway:

1. That "ooh, ahh" feeling I get when I first step foot onto a cruise ship.

2. The embarkation lunch, knowing I have a week of not cooking to look forward to!

3. Sailing away while enjoying a tropical drink...and right now specifically, I enjoy wondering what drink I will end up choosing.

4. Dinner with the family in the Manhattan Room, and seeing some entertainment while dining.

5. The wonderful entertainment...not just the shows, but looking forward to the jazz lounge, piano lounge, and atrium entertainment.

6. The thermal suite...DH and I will get getting spa passes before we do anything else.

7. The looks on my kids' faces and the adorable comments they make because they get so amazed by cruise ships...the way the ship looks, how huge it is, everything there is to do, and of course all the delicious food they get to eat (especially "breakfast desserts" which are a vacation-only treat!). ;)

8. Being back in beautiful Bermuda, my favorite place to cruise.

9. Dinner with DH for a date night in Le Bistro.

And last but definitely not least...

11. Enjoying a week of fun and relaxation with DH, our 2 sons, my parents, my sister, brother-in-law, 2 nieces and our baby nephew. :)

Oh, hooray! I am LOVING all of these responses! Thank you all so much for indulging my whim of needing some happiness and excitement :D. You're all helping me think of even more great things to look forward to, including something I didn't list earlier...a full uninterrupted week with my boyfriend, whose work schedule is completely opposite from mine. For a whole week, we won't have to be passing like ships in the night (yes, pun intended :p).
