What's Better on Oasis and Allure.....

Recommended Posts

We like the balconies. In your opinion on the Oasis or Allure, which is better? The Boardwalk, Central Park or Ocean View? We've been on Allure and enjoyed our Boardwalk, now booking Oasis and trying to decide.

Oasis "Balcony"..I would say no to the Central Park...yes to the Boardwalk only if it was one of the last ones with a view of the aqua theatre...definitely love the ocean view balcony...one we have enjoyed was midship deck #6 starboard side. JMHO if limited to the balcony catagory but the JS is what we prefer.

Maybe I've read your post wrong but I thought the subject was a "Balcony".

Ocean view. Had a boardwalk balcony.Never again. Celine Dion music blasting on the big screen late at night in a torrential rain storm when nobody was outside watching it. The next night some girls got in a hugh screaming match right down in front of Johnny Rockets. Security showed up about 30 mins later and escorted them away. So now it's ocean view.

Ocean view is the only way to go. Unless you want stand on your balcony and look at all the rooms across from you.

Depends on what you like. If you want to see the ocean and relax, then would think ocean view. If you like to people watch and be near the action, then Boardwalk balcony would be fun. Haven't tried boardwalk myself but would if they were cheaper.

Thought the Central Park Balcony was a waste of money when we did it, would try Oceanview Room or Oceanview Balcony (depending on the price points) before paying for Central Park Balcony again.

And as someone else said, you don't see much of the water so seeing it from your room would be a plus :)

we recently booked our first rcl on the oasis and booked an central park balcony. i talked to someone who had had a boardwalk balcony and she said that was the only way to go and was very insistent. her points of why she loved it were the reasons i would not. she said lots going on, lots to see and you can see the water show every night if you get back far enough. i don't want lots going on, i want peace and do i really need to see the water show every night?

what made me book central park was that it seemed like it was quieter in the evenings. i like to sit on our balcony with a glass of wine and relax. my understanding, and i could be wrong, is that in the evenings there is often classical type music played and you can hear night sounds drifting in the air. am i romanticizing this to much? lol.

also, while the people walking on the boardwalk side are being loud due to the nature of what is on that side of the ship the people are more muted in the central park area because it is a more upscale restaurant type activities.

so do you think i have this right or am i confusing my thoughts and maybe have it all wrong?

Sounds like you've weighed what you expect from your balcony experience, and I think you've chosen wisely based on what you want! We, too, booked CP balcony for our upcoming Oasis, but later lamented not being able to see the ocean during the day from the balcony. So we switched to an aft Boardwalk balcony so we (hopefully) will have the best of both worlds. We will be able to have ocean views and have views of the Aqua Theater if we want.

And PS -- yes, there is music played in Central Park in the evenings, and it's lovely. Very, very peaceful.

I have had the opportunity to reside in all three - Boardwalk, Central Park and Oceanview balconies onboard Oasis and Allure of the Seas.

I will never again stay in a Boardwalk balcony - we were above Johnny Rockets and every hour they had a song and dance that we heard inside the cabin, and outside. Additionally, the light "pollution" from the big screen tv's were enough to wake the dead. (Even with the blackout shades)....

I enjoyed the Central Park balcony - the beautiful twinkle lights, the distant sounds of dogs barking, birds and crickets chirping (all played via the exterior speakers in Central Park), and how quiet it was at night.... While staying in the CP balcony - we did hear a bit of noise from the pool areas during the day.

I love Oceanview balconies for obvious reasons - the beauty and sound of the water, privacy, watching the flying fish, etc.

The Oasis cruise my husband and I are booked on in October 2015 is in a CP balcony. It was on a major sale through my TA (only $1 more than an interior stateroom) - we couldn't imagine spending so much more for an Oceanview balcony.

With all that said, I do continue to check daily if rates fall on the Oceanview balconies on our upcoming cruise....

Good luck with your decision! And enjoy your cruise!

I would choose ocean view for all the reasons listed. We've had Boardwalk balcony Even though it was one of the closest the the Aqua Theater, we missed the privacy of our own ocean view balcony.

One other factor I did not see mentioned was airflow. Generally, we found the air in the Central Park area to be extremely still and humid. I would not have enjoyed my balcony under those conditions.

Good luck whit your decision.

We had a Central Park balcony last year and LOVED IT for exactly the same reasons you mentioned. Actually it was very peaceful, especially at night when we wanted to relax and sit on our balcony. When we wanted to view the ocean, we would just go out to one of the decks to view the ocean. We loved it so much that we booked another CP balcony for this year. Enjoy!

Between oasis and allure I prefer the oasis?

Why, I can't really tell but for some reasons I felt more positive energy a the oasis. Now, cabin preference? I prefer to have a balcony so I can see the sea once in a while ( I don't really think that I spent more than 10 minutes a day in the balcony looking out ) the room has more light and it's semi private ( semi because we sometimes can hear our neighbors at night 2am if we r outside lol). But I could never book Central Park, I live in Florida and to be honest green trees and vegetation and bird sounds doesn't do anything to me. In fact I want a vacation from that Hahahah. My friend had a Central Park stateroom and I didn't like the view. My second house could be boardwalk view in fact that's is what I booked for my next cruise.

I don't mind the music from the pool, or movie from the big screen, I don't really go to a cruise to relax I can do that at home. Most people will book all the way to the back of the ship to have the Aqua theater close to their balcony but to be honest I don't do that. I rather have a room not that far back, you walk a lot ( at least I do) and I prefer to watch the show seating at the event and not necessary from my balcony.

How exciting! Have an awesome cruise!

This is my first cruise on Allure but to me, the CP and Boardwalk seem really neat and something unique on the Oasis type ships. I'm sure you'll love it!
