lah66 Posted June 2, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 2, 2015 Oasis has Cats, Allure has Chicago. What Broadway play would you like to see on Harmony? I am sure Disney will not give rights to the Lion King or Aladdin, so maybe Wicked or Phantom of the Opera? What is your vote? So excited to sail Harmony! The Sunset Glow Posted June 2, 2015 #4 Share Posted June 2, 2015 Not family friendly but I'd love to see The Book of Mormon:p Wicked or Les Miserable would be nice. BTW Chicago is no longer on Allure - currently it is Tell Me On A Sunday and Mamma Mia will be starting soon.
BonTexasNY Posted June 2, 2015 #5 Share Posted June 2, 2015 Jersey Boys. Totally agree. We saw The Unexpected Boys perform in the showroom of the Mariner of the Seas 2 1/2 years ago. They brought the house down. Actually sounded more like the 4 seasons than Jersey Boys! We were singing and dancing in the aisles.
George C Posted June 2, 2015 #6 Share Posted June 2, 2015 Chorus line -best play I have ever seen on the seas ( NCL in 1980's) they also did a great version of Grease ( also agree on Jersey Boys)

jules815 Posted June 2, 2015 #9 Share Posted June 2, 2015 Jersey Boys would be a good choice. I haven't even seen that show, but it seems like it would be a good fit for a cruise ship. Dreamgirls, or Motown the Musical. Any of these would be crowd pleasers.
lah66 Posted June 2, 2015 Author #10 Share Posted June 2, 2015 Great responses! Jersey Boys would be awesome! LeMis always makes me cry! The Book of Mormon is coming to our town but my 22 year old DS says I should not go! Is it that bad for a slightly prudish Mom? Spamalot was fantastic! I was a teen in the late 70's, early 80's...Grease was my Favorite! Have not seen DreamGirls! How long before the ship sails do you think they will make an announcement? Thanks for playing along! sr4mjc Posted June 2, 2015 #13 Share Posted June 2, 2015 Most jukebox musicals are good choices because the audience already knows the songs. Jersey Boys would be a logical choice, although Rock of Ages is more my era. Although not the most family friendly.

LuCruise Posted June 2, 2015 #15 Share Posted June 2, 2015 Wicked is awesome, but I would think too complicated (costumes, set, effects) for a ship.

Lauri We saw Phantom in Toronto and loved it, I think it would lose something on a ship, at least for me. We could feel the heat from the fire effects in the mezzanine, I know they would have some substitute, but it would not be the same. That said I would still enjoy either Wicked or Phantom. DonnaK Posted June 3, 2015 #21 Share Posted June 3, 2015 My choices off the top of my head, in order: Little Shop of Horrors (corny, but I love it) Jersey Boys Grease Phantom of the Opera My Fair Lady West Side Story ~ Judy I agree with these. There are a lot of excellent revivals on Broadway now: Gigi. The King and I. An American in Paris. A classic, traditional musical would be great!
