Digisailor Posted July 17, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 17, 2015 I shot this video late on June 21 from the Regal Princess as the Royal Princess was sailing away. Both ships were playing the "Love Boat Theme". I told some fellow passengers I would post it.

satxdiver Posted July 18, 2015 #10 Share Posted July 18, 2015 We were on the Royal leaving port in FLL when the latest Disney ship was also leaving port at the same time - they followed us out. The two got into a theme song match when Royal would play the love boat theme and the Disney ship would play their theme song. It went on for several rounds and was really enjoyable. I think both captains were having fun entertaining the guests aboard.
crochetcruise Posted July 18, 2015 #11 Share Posted July 18, 2015 That made my skin prickle! The Love Boat was a never miss TV show-too young to fully understand what was going on, it was the scenery I enjoyed most!

graphicgal Posted July 18, 2015 #15 Share Posted July 18, 2015 I love it! I've been recording all those old Love Boat episodes from the 70s and 80s and have enjoyed watching them all. But, golly, the ships sure have changed a lot over the years.
sammybonny Posted July 18, 2015 #16 Share Posted July 18, 2015 We were on the Royal last week .It took a couple of times before I realised it was the Love Boat theme. Talking to other passengers near the end of the cruise it seemed a lot had no idea what it was they were playing (including my husband if I hadn't told him)
ChiefBoats Posted July 18, 2015 #17 Share Posted July 18, 2015 We sailed on the Royal last fall to New England and on leaving one port there was a wedding reception going on at this large residence on the channel and the Captain played the Love Boat song at least 4 or 5 times as we sailed past. _______________________________________________ Island Princess 2008 Alaska, Island Princess 2009 (B2B) Alaska, Royal Princess (Old) 2010 Alaska, Golden Princess 2011 Alaska, Coral Princess 2012 Panama Canal, Star Princess 2012 Alaska, Island Princess 2013 Alaska, Crown Princess 2013 Western Caribbean, Caribbean Princess 2013 Western Caribbean, Royal Princess 2014 Eastern Caribbean, Royal Princess 2014 New England, Emerald Princess 2014 Western Caribbean, Ruby Princess 2015 Alaska

cormike1 Posted July 18, 2015 #19 Share Posted July 18, 2015 I am sure it was very hard to get that to sound just right but I wish it would play more than the first line as I really love listening to it.....I just want more lol.

They include "When You Wish Upon A Star", "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes", "Be Our Guest", "Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life For Me)", "Hi-Diddle-Dee-Dee", and "It's A Small World" as well as just horns. Impressive!

cruisin froggy Posted July 20, 2015 #25 Share Posted July 20, 2015 When we were about to leave Honolulu, someone on the dock played the Love Boat theme. It was about 11PM so I don't know how many passengers heard it but I was sitting on the balcony which is why I did. Loved it.
