Had a butler tell us that when they work nude cruises that the staff are not allowed to enter any cabin that the guest is in.

Also not true. All of the same concepts of common decency and decorum exists on this cruise, and the crew performs their same job functions. Passengers also sign a code of conduct before the cruise which is strictly enforced. Having met the owners multiple times from what I know there are less behavior problems on these cruises than on regular cruises.

When I go into a restaurant on the ship I normally sanitise my hands. Are there other facilities for nudists?

Hand sanitizer is still there for them. Also coverups are required when dining.

Generally speaking the nudeists will be at pool spa, etc. These are not "dirty" people - no need to judge them.

Here is a recap of the policy:

decorum & etiquette

There are only few situations on board a [CRUISE COMPANY NAME REDACTED] cruise that require clothing. Mostly we want you to enjoy the opportunity of being nude. The rules boil down to common sense and courtesy. Here is a list of what to expect.

  • All passengers must be dressed any time the ship is in port, or when the Captain announces that clothing is required.
  • All passengers must be dressed for meals in the main dining room and in all specialty dining restaurants.
  • Clothing is required when attending the Captain’s Reception.
  • (While many passengers do choose to wear cocktail or evening wear to the Captain’s Reception or other special events, it is not required. Casual attire such as shorts and t-shirts are always acceptable.)
  • Lingerie and fetish-wear are not appropriate at any time and bathrobes are not permitted in the dining venues, casino and show rooms.
  • Please use a towel or some other textile to sit on at all times if nude or in a g-string. Towels will be provided in your stateroom and throughout the ship. Please respect the environment by limiting your use of towels.
  • No photographs, video or electronic images of any person may be taken without the express consent of that individual. People found violating this rule or taking photographs in the designated “NO PHOTO ZONES” on board our charters face confiscation of their photo capturing equipment and dismissal from the cruise at the next port of call.
  • Overt sexual activity in public or any solicitation for such activity is, of course, strictly prohibited and will result in dismissal from the ship.

Often, when I take my clothes off, I find I am nude. ;)

I still have hands, whether I'm clothed or not. And those hands are usually exposed, whether I'm clothed are not (Alaskan cruise excepted). Why would there be other facilities for "nudists" to sanitise their hands?

I guess I don't understand your question.

There are only few situations on board a Bare Necessities cruise that require clothing. Mostly we want you to enjoy the opportunity of being nude. The rules boil down to common sense and courtesy. Here is a list of what to expect.

Those may be the rules for a Bare Necessities cruise, but this is Bliss.

Unless I'm mistaken, I believe there will be sexual activity in the designated play rooms (Sky Lounge, Solarium, Relaxation Room.)

While this is helpful to explain to folks generally the rules, the particular cruise being discussed is not a Bare Necessities cruise. There are only a few place where you don't need clothes - basically the pool and one or two rooms indoors.

Has anyone thought about the sexual activity that happens in the cabins, on the beds, on the sofas, over the desk chairs, on ANY cruise....

At least the play areas on the ship can get hosed down afterwards.

Here's the BLISS code of conduct:

What are the rules of conduct on-board?

This is considered an OFF PREMISE VACATION PARTY. We want you to clearly understand the terms to which we have agreed with the cruise line to bring you this unique [COMPANY NAME REDACTED]® Experience. Our hope is to continue to offer [COMPANY NAME REDACTED]® charters, and with your help in adhering to the rules listed below:

  • Nudity will be allowed at all pool areas and spa tubs while you are on board the ship. Nudity is not allowed in any food area except the pool deck snack bars. (when docked at a port, clothing is required)
  • NO SEX in front of cruise line employees! This includes the hundreds of cameras around the ship!
  • Discretion should be exercised with public displays of affection (PDA's) Security will be strong at this event. You will be removed from the ship at the next port if you are caught having any sex in public areas! This is very embarrassing, so please don't break the rules. Dedicated "Play Rooms"and your stateroom should be used for sexual activity.
  • The Playrooms will be open every day with set times to be announced.
  • Special Themed lifestyle parties will be provided at which nudity will be allowed, and one topless nightclub.
  • We always recommend safe sexual practices. Condoms will be available for purchase on the ship.
  • Please properly dispose of any used safe sex products in TRASH CANS when using playrooms. Also DO NOT flush anything down the toilets that did not come from your body or the ship supplied toilet paper. Anything else will jamb up the vacuum toilet system and your neighbors will not like you much!
  • Sexually explicit games are fun, just remember there are limits to how far you can take it when in public and being watched by the security cameras. We want you to have fun, just use discretion so we are allowed back next year.
  • For the comfort of the cruises staff, all cabin doors must be closed.
  • Under no circumstances is the ship's crew allowed to fraternize with the passengers. This is grounds for immediate dismissal of the crew member.
  • Please treat all areas with respect, just as you would in a hotel, any other public space, or even your own home.

It's been going on for years. Many, many years ago we had a cruise cancelled as it was booked by a charter for a nudist cruise. I don't care what people do in their private time, but the idea of people sitting nude all over the cruise ship strikes me as unsanitary, unless they have very strict regulations about bringing something to sit on. Even then, it seems to me the possibilities are endless to contaminate surfaces. All I can say is ick, ick, ick.

Thankfully my next cruise is in Alaska! Very little chance of a nudist charter taking over! :D

Anyone interested in the facts?

I've been on six of these, all fully-clothed. This is an adult, couples cruise cruise. No kids.

Passengers tend to take formal nights extremely seriously, and you will see almost all of the men in suits and tuxedos. Other nights are more dressy than regular cruises (I've been on more than 30 of those). There are only a handful of places where you can be nude (pool deck is one of them), and a good percentage, like me, are not.

Michael's Club and other suite benefits are in effect, as are Captain's Club benefits. The cruise is significantly more expensive than a regular cruise, primarily due to the top-notch entertainment brought on for the cruise. And yes, they sell out.

I love the no-kids atmosphere - there is less rushing, pushing and general rudeness. People are friendly and kind. And they are doctors, lawyers, teachers, preachers, business people - you name it - and your next door neighbors.

Did you sit on Santas lap?

I'm counting on a spotless ship. We're traveling with 3 other couples, with 5 being new to Celebrity and 3 who have never cruised before. We convinced BIL to cruise with us, and he's celebrating his retirement as captain on one of the Great Lakes freighters. I'm hoping they're able to remove all the kink from the Sky Lounge and whip the Solarium back into order by the time we board. We're always among the first to board due to excitement and arriving at the port early, but I think we may dawdle this time.

Please do not worry, you will not see a sign of what went on before you boarded. Have a great cruise

A couple of points. A nudist is not a swinger. Although swingers may be nudists. And who cares once they (a couple) are in it together and happy.

On nudity - I worked in Germany for awhile and have visited since. Saunas etc are very nude (pretty much standard) and it is not sexual. In fact, their attitude is a whole lot more sensible.

Why is it that most nudists are people you don't want to see naked?..................

I mean what is all this nudist thing....do people really feel the need to rent a cruise ship??

We Europeans can walk around a beach naked without feeling the need........
