What is bingo like onboard?

Most ships have bingo twice a day... you can buy one or more cards. They sell cards before you start.

I can tell you I only play the last day, since payouts are not great... even so, I have own twice... once on a coverall and another time - in both case I split the kitty which was great because then under $1200 and tax free.

It generally costs about $20 I think to play one card... not sure what multiples costs.

I am not a big gambler, lol. Like bingo but not emough spend $20 a day, when I know the pay out is not that great.

It's not in the casino. On the Crown, bingo will probably be in Club Fusion. Times and location will be in the Patter. We usually play once on sea days. I don't even think it's offered on port days. They have a jackpot that builds throughout the cruise and has to be given away by the last day. So that last day will be crowded!

Awesome thanks for the info. I definitely won't play every day... but one or two games sound fun! I guess they do not have electronic bingo machines in addition to the paper cards? (I prefer cards anyway - I get bored if I'm not dabbing away)

Look at how much they take in and what they pay. You can buy a card for $10.00, $20.00 gets you a couple.

I used to enjoy it years ago on the smaller ships. So many people playing not likely you will win the $100.00

Yeah, I figure I will be playing mostly for the experience of it... And that's ok with me :)

They play 4 games..each pack has four

papers.

Some days only play once, then other days

play once in the morning and once in the

afternoon. Have to read the Patter to find

out.

Cost from $10 to $40...depends if you

get a one square pack, 3, 4 or a 6 square

pack.

!st game $100

2nd game $200

3rd game $300

and last game (Blackout/coverall)l is $400 if jackpot is not won

in so many numbers. Each day add a number.

If not won..the last day it must be won, doesn't

matter how many numbers they have to call

My mother in law and I played bingo a few times. We never won anything, but had a good time, with one exception. On that occasion, the theater was going to be used immediately after bingo. The caller raced through the numbers. People yelled "slow down". I was one of those people. It didn't help. He was on a mission to get the bingo done and get us out of the theater. Check your patter and avoid playing if there is another activity scheduled right after the bingo.

There is almost always another activity scheduled after Bingo.

Usually that activity will be delayed until Bingo ends.

Sometimes Bingo is delayed if an earlier event has not ended in time.

Here is a picture of people waiting to get into Bingo after an earlier activity ran late:

You will require a dauber (marker) to play. You can bring one or they sell them there for a few $$$. The drawing is all electronic, no balls. Bingo cards have serial numbers. The declared winner's serial number is entered into the computer and the computer knows if it is a valid winner.

I just returned from Ruby P....and Bingo was $20 for 3, $30 for 6, and $40 for 9 plus an extra single Red Card for coverall.

First of 4 games had a $100 payout, second game $200, third game $300. Coverall was a jackpot of $1,000 (in 53 numbers or less) to start the cruise. The jackpot grew $200 per session with a guaranteed payout to the winner of the last game.

I won the bingo jackpot the day b4 the last bingo game and won $2100.00. There were a lot of upset bingo players . I had to go to the casino to get my money and my wife noticed that the last seat was available for the bingo tournament so I grabbed my winnings from bingo and paid $50.00 to get that last seat and won the slot tournament for $500.00. Later i was playing the slots and hit for another $500.00. $3100.00 for the luckiest day in my life.

Bingo is more expensive on cruises and offers lower payouts but is still loads of fun! Others have given you the pricing and payouts. Usually the jackpot goes the last session, but I've been on a cruise where the jackpot went on the second to last session. Have fun! [emoji568]

Just back from Diamond Princess 2 days ago. US$15 for 1 box - US$30 for full card (6 boxes) and 4 games. $1.50 for a Princess dobber. Be aware bingo is run by the casino. 200 + players x $30. Prizes start at $78, $112, $128 and $200 approx each session. The jackpot is only unlimited on the last sea day, otherwise you need to get it out in under 50 - 53 numbers. Each card has a serial number and is recorded in the computer that calls the numbers, so they know from the serial number what card is a winner.

Observe the card serial numbers being sold at the door and compare to the winning serial numbers. During the five sessions we attended, the serial numbers sold at the door did not feature in any of the winning serial numbers which were 30,000 - 50,000 numbers later. Bingo cards can also be purchased at the Casino and other locations as well.

DW has used the same dauber on the last 3 cruises and plans on using on our next! I told her they were "Not" going to play Bingo on this cruise, but she didn't believe me. ;) OH well, I tried! :D

What's the use of cruising without Bingo :)

We always have a blast.

I am pretty sure the bingo is no different... imagine watching a spreadsheet and listening to someone drone on about the formula used on the spreadsheet while people around you talked about themselves as if the only reason for the 'Verse was to revolve around them.

That's bingo, with even less fun than I described. :D ;)
