They do not, nor do they have a suite line. "yet" Port Everglades rocks!!!

 

Keep in mind, you MUST MUST MUST, have your global entry card to show CBP, as PEV does not have global entry kiosks, so passports will not be able to be scanned to prove membership. Only the card!!!!

Last week, disembarking Navigator with Global Entry cards in our hands, Terminal crew almost made us stand in line since they didn't know how to handle the cards. My advice is to MAKE SURE you are assertive once off the ship.

We just received our cards this week. I was under the assumption that if the port or airport did not have a dedicated entry you had to wait in line like everyone else. Are you saying that even if there are no dedicated lines you can bypass the line and head right to the front?

October 2015, was in fact a global access line. You had to ask for it to find it. We were lucky they let us thru as we were not carring our cards but the computer must have verified that we were global access members. Will always carry our cards now.

Anyone familiar with Nexus cards? We have Nexus, with it the US threw in global entry for "free"... Eye scans and all... Anyone know if our Nexus cards work at port Everglades?

 

According to a very reliable poster here on Cruise Critic (critterchick). They should work as well. :D

It shouldn't be a problem. According to the CBP official website http://www.cbp.gov/travel/trusted-traveler-programs/nexus

NEXUS

 

 

The NEXUS program allows pre-screened travelers expedited processing when entering the United States and Canada. Program members use dedicated processing lanes at designated northern border ports of entry, NEXUS kiosks when entering Canada by air and Global Entry kiosks when entering the United States via Canadian Preclearance airports.
NEXUS members also receive expedited processing at marine reporting locations.

On our Silhouette cruise over Thanksgiving the line for Global Entry was on the extreme right side of the terminal with no line at all. In October, off the Emerald the line was also on the extreme right, but it had no label other than handicapped line. The person directing people in lines was asking if anyone had GE card and to use the handicapped line. In both cases there was no waiting in line and passed thru quickly.

We were pleased to see that the Fort Lauderdale port has a Global Entry access point. It was nice to be able to bypass he long Customs line. Does anyone know if Miami also has one?

 

Just off the Reflection at POM. No one asking about Global Entry cards, no signs that I saw to indicate any special line for them. But the whole disembarkation process was a joke on shoreside. Never seen luggage delivery so messed up!

Got off Independence yesterday, and really don't see the point to the Global Entry "line". As there is no machine, and the passport has to be presented anyway, it didn't save us ANY time. Our friends went into the regular line at the same time and actually came out ahead... and there was no one ahead of us at Global Entry. What's the point to this? Will they possibly have the machines at some point?

As reported by myself and a few others, it depends on which terminal you disembark at. Terminal 18 (RCI and Celebrity) did not honor our Nexus cards or recognize us as trusted travelers. The signs were in place, but the staff did not/could not/would not help expedite us through.

Just my guess but I think the point is to move people through as quickly as possible. I have never disembarked at Port Everglades and not had a line at least 10 - 15 minutes long to even get to the customs and immigration checkpoint (we tend to disembark 'in the middle' - about halfway thru disembarkation - so undoubtedly the lines will have grown since disembarkation started). While everyone else was in a 15 minute line for 4 staff, the Global Entry line had no backup when we disembarked Royal Princess (terminal 2) at the end of October.

If you come into Port Everglades and have Global Entry/Nexus card...look for the signs.

If you ask an employee and they do not know, ask another....

A lot of new staff every weekend...may not be fully trained...

 

Front of the line privileges. No kiosk expected in the future.

Mobile Passport (APP) coming soon...
