Stuartm Posted December 21, 2015 #26 Share Posted December 21, 2015 P&O are counted towards your loyalty level with Princess, but I do not believe that Carnival are. Our Carnival cruise was not counted and I have never heard that they are.:) Only P&O cruises count towards cruise credits with Princess. You get credited with the days at sea plus 1 cruise credit for the cruise. The only difference (unless things have changed recently) is that with a Princess cruise if you travel alone in a cabin you get 2 cruise credits and if you travel in a full suite you get 2 cruise credits. I travelled alone on P&O but only received one credit for the cruise. I suspect that if you travelled in a suite on P&O you would also only get the one credit. Can anyone verify that? cheers Stu
Rare MicCanberra Posted December 21, 2015 #27 Share Posted December 21, 2015 Whats the ASX code for CCL ? What a tangled web thanks for the info, be calling my stockbroker. You need to get them on the NYSC (New York stock exchange) and it is CCL but beware as Coca cola have a similar code but on another exchange. Good luck. linanles Posted December 21, 2015 #28 Share Posted December 21, 2015 We went on a Princess cruise in November and I went armed with details of all previous cruises to the Captain's Circle lady but she explained that only P&O Australia and P&O UK cruises credits applied as it was an agreement made when Carnival took over P&O and Princess. It used to be that Sitmar cruises were recognised as well , but I guess its got to the stage where there are no ex Sitmar cruisers left who are still capable of cruising . I always look at it that basically P&O took over Sitmar , changed it to their American arm and named it Princess Cruises , and RCCL took over Chandris and called them Celebrity , hence the big X on their ships. Many people today have probably never heard of Sitmar or Chandris , but that is where they got their Italian influence .....although even that is fading away these days. I hope that was a joke:D. We started cruising on the Fairstar 33 years ago and are still capable of cruising. I believe a lot of other people who cruised on that ship are also still cruising. :D Princess counted our Sitmar cruises. At the time Princess was crediting for cruises back to 1976. Several people got credits for the nights spent on Sitmar ships coming to Australia as Ten Pound Poms. After our Sitmar and P&O cruises were counted, we already had more than enough to qualify for Elite when we went on our first Princess cruise, but at that time, the earlier cruises were not counted until we went on our second Princess cruise. Now they count them from the start.:)

Thanks, did a bit of digging and discovered them @ US$56.00 per share, x 500 = a big outlay, next year when the Aussie dollar drops to .60 you will have to cash them in :)

NSWP Posted December 22, 2015 #40 Share Posted December 22, 2015 (edited) showing your age now Uncle Les:D Ken Oath Gut, couple of years to go to the big 70. Might have one last big cruise fling that year, don't know where to though, I am running out of the World. My son who is the owner/founder/director of a company that specialises in Latin America Travel and Antarctic Expedition Cruising wants us to do the Antarctic Adventure, but perhaps a little out of my comfort zone, but will think about it. A separate announcement is made each year as to whether or not it will be granted...So far as I know it always has been .:)
GUT2407 Posted December 22, 2015 #42 Share Posted December 22, 2015 Last cruise we were talking to a lady who was credited for 6 weeks when her family came to Aus by ship. Go for it! Not to be missed, as your son has probably told you. I spent my big 70 on a unforgettable cruise to Falkland Islands, South Georgia Islands and Antarctica, my 7th continent. There were passengers older than me and all were very active. I can recommend the polar circle boats, with handles, on mv Fram, if you are worried about getting in to and out of the normal tenders, in rough conditions. BTW The staff on mv Fram were absolutely wonderful from assisting all passengers to informative educational lectures. Like most who cruise to Antarctica, I want to go again!
