Hadnt realised Laitude left ship! Did hear the newband last night but only in passing. Irie tour was great we did the 3 hour city tour with beach but they were happy to leave us at the beach for longer. Very good guide and good tour. He offered us a tour of the west side today for 60 dollars but wexwill do that next ime. Good efficient company:)

Let us know how the iris tour goes. We might be interested in doing that when we're on eclipse soon.

Can only speak for the Irie east side tour we went on yesterday. It was very good, well worth the $25. We visited the distillery with their free samples, and the price includes the beach admission price, and water, soda and beer on the bus. Beach chairs at the Aquarium beach were only $3.50 and included a pepsi or water. The tour is advertised at 1 hour at the beach. Since we had a big group, and had our own bus, they were willing to let us stay longer.

Thanks for the info on he Irie tour. One question--SandiG, you said the tour is advertised as 1 hour. Do you mean one hour at the beach or 1 hour overall?

Thanks for your help!

Sorry if I confused you. I'd meant one hour at the beach! The tour is normally 3 hours.

Hello all presently on the Eclipse. I'm enjoying all your posts and am eagerly awaiting my turn to sail on Feb 21st. Could someone post the rates for manicure and/or pedicures as well as massages? Also, were there any specials or coupons for these services that you are aware of? Does anyone know if the listed spa rates are negotiable?

Thanks in advance for any replies! Please keep sending your posts, especially on your activities at each port.

Ruth

I was on the cruise prior to the current one and was charged US$95 for gel/shellac nails.

If anyone goes to the Veneto Holiday beach resort in Curacao, for the day, can you please post how the beach condition was? I have read bad reports on trip advisor. We were going to go there for the day. One reviewer said the beach was between a drainage pipe and an electric company. and the water was cloudy. Is there construction going on also, which makes for a noisy day?

Thanks

Today we had another sea day, lots of things to do on board, I found that the day slipped away very quickly. Now we have 5 islands in 5 days and I'm sorry that we're not getting another break in-between again.

We really enjoyed our two days in Curacao. When I'd originally learned that we were losing Bonaire for 2 days in Curacao, I was upset, but I really enjoyed this island, and it was nice to not have to stress about getting back to the ship on time on the first day.

One thing nice about the port in Curacao was the free wifi on the pier. I was able to catch up with the family without using any of my package minutes. :-)

We decided to upgrade to the premium package today. We thought this was a good compromise between getting it or not. It ended up costing us $94.40 each for the remaining 8 days. I'm not sure if it will be worth it, but we'll find out. We plan to visit the martini bar for the first time tonight. ;-)

Tomorrow is Barbados, and we reserved a private 5-hour catamaran sailing/snorkeling cruise, and looking forward to that.

SandG, so glad you are both enjoying the longer itinerary this year! Sounds like you are having good weather and fun on board.

Sadly we won't be boarding right after you disembark.Hopefully we can be back at sea again soon because I am really missing it! Thanks for reporting live from Eclipse. It helps me enjoy the voyage along with you!

JSPIRIT!!! So glad you jumped in! :D I booked this cruise because I remembered that you liked the itinerary. I was hoping by some shear luck that we would run into you at the pier. Maybe we will end up on the same cruise in the future....

So happy you saw my post and responded! Wish we were on deck with you right now! Love those sea days!

Barbados has the most beautiful beach ... we like to go to Lobster Alive which is right next to the Boatyard. Much quieter and more space, with very large umbrellas for shade. If you don't catch a tour, it will still be a beautiful beach day and so easy to get there and back! Have thee best time and enjoy the swim for me!

Many from your sailing are booked on the Eq next year for Mardi Gras. We are too , and hopefully we can go by then. Check it out and the sailing prior. Usually pays to book on board for the perks.

Will continue to watch for your updates. Can ALMOST feel the sunshine while we are in a deep freeze.

No volcanoes on this route, haha

Is 6-Nations Rugby Union shown on ESPN aboard ? Wales 27 - 24 Scotland earlier today.

The Calcutta Cup [England v Scotland] was shown [do not know what channel but know that we had to postpone dinner so my husband could watch!] on the previous cruise. My husband also reported that the repeat was shown in the bar in the Casino later in the evening. I guess that it was also shown live at some bar but there was no moving my husband once he found the match wa on.

Came home to discover that some matches on BBC and other on ITV [weird!] so not sure what the arrangements are for broadcasting this time.

We had a personal emergency at home and not able to post recently. But we've been very fortunate that Curacao, Barbados, and St. Lucia have all had some free Wifi available at the cruise terminal.

In Barbados we sailed with the Silver Moon - very pleased with the excursion. The snorkeling was the best that we'd seen so far, and the food and service was very good. I cannot praise them enough for the quality of the excusion.

In St. Lucia, we booked a tour with John from "Paradise Excursions" which brought us through the "Tet Paul" Nature trail to get a terrific view of the Pitons.

The last time I'd posted that I'd upgraded to the premium package and not sure if it would be worth it. ... Well, if you are interested in cocktails or a better variety of beers, I would say yes. For wine drinkers, it will get you to a better group of wines, although not the best. But for my tastes, it was good enough. We have been ordering the "Celler Masters", which we think is pretty good.

Antigua tomorrow...

Can someone tell me if Celebrity offers a special price for a bag of laundry? We are trying to determine how to take less clothes. We have not reached elite plus status yet.

I believe that they will offer a special price nearer the end of the cruise, will let you know. If you are Captain's Club (Select or higher, I think??), you will get a "fill the bag" bennnie coupon.

Will be sailing on the Eclipse in April. Am a vegetarian and am wondering what food will be available. Is there a separate vegetarian menu in Blue and the MDR? I do enjoy dairy and eggs. But nothing that had parents! Thanks so much!

Sorry to burst your bubble or egg in this case but eggs have parents.... 1 at least, sometimes 2!

We are select. If there is no special we will just use it as needed anyway!

If there are two people in your cabin, you will get two sets of Select coupons. Each coupon sheet will have one "$20 for a bag of laundry (not pressed)". So, you'll be able to send out two bags for $40 total during the cruise. Of course, you'll also be able to pay by the piece like always.
