Do you wear a lanyard?

Guess I'm the odd man (woman) out. We always wear a lanyard MAINLY because I don't like trying to keep up with my SeaPass Card. It's just simple to wear one without worrying about going thru my "stuff" looking for my card or continually checking to see if it's still in my pocket, etc. Might not look perfect but it is certainly a simple way of keeping up with the card and I'm all for simple.

my sentiments exactly. hate having to keep guessing where it's at. as for pictures, just take it off. no big deal. :D

For what ever reason, Laura has never worn a lanyard onboard. She does wear one at work, at least going in and out of the building. She always seems to have some sort of bag on her, pool, beach, purse, etc..

This has worked for 50+ voyages ;)

I rarely carry a bag around the ship

Never though of using one.

I put it in my pocket while exercising or walking on deck. At other times, I carry it in a simple cloth.purse I tend to carry on board which also holds a camera and medication.

Celebrity did, maybe continues to, give a a small leather-like card holder to their passengers.

I continue to use that item to hold the cruise card and the coffee card (for Princess cruises).

She carries so much stuff, needs the bag

Lipstick, compact, sunscreen, lip balm, brush, cruise compass, chair clips, magazine, sunglasses, gum, kindle, etc.....

At night, just lipstick, compact and casino chips. ;)

Yes. In fact, I bought new lanyards for us for our upcoming cruise. But I only wear it on the ship, mainly because I seldom have a pocket to put it in. I don't wear it in port though. I have to wear one at work, so when we get back from our cruise, I'll wear my new one at work which will be a nice little reminder of our cruise. :)

Do you wear a lanyard on board for your sea pass card? Or an ID holder? Or one of those plastic stretchy bracelets? So many options- which do you use?

Always in a pocket, never use a lanyard, ID holder, one of those stretchy bands or anything like that, even my wife uses pockets.

That's a good idea. How fun!

We use them. I hate carrying a purse, and a lanyard makes it easy to put it on and forget about it...I want to chill out on vacation, not realize I can't get a drink because I left my seapass in the room or stand in line at guest services to make a 3rd one since I keep demagnetizing the doggone thing. My husband and kids use the ones that clip on, but I like the neck lanyard because I can tuck it in. I agree that it does look tacky on formal nights, but other than that, I am on vacay to relax, not to impress in my cruise uniform of tevas, comfy t-shirts and shorts. :D I understand why some people hate them...you just have to find what makes you happy on your vacation.

I did a small cross body purse on the first few cruises, but the last two I found it was just easier to wear the lanyard. I bought the cute gemstone one in the gift store, yes it was the same as 100 other ladies on board, but at least it looked a little like jewelry! I bought the long one and the wrist one and switched them out for formal/casual looks.

I don't wear a lot of pockets when cruising - dresses, swimsuit coverups, palazzo pants all don't come with any! The lanyard is just as easy and less cumbersome than a small purse. I really don't get everyone criticizing how it looks. Who cares, if it works for you than do it. Hubby puts his in his pocket because all his shorts and even swim trunks have a pocket. For me the lanyard was easier and my only other option was in my bra!

Always amazed when I see women place them in their bra or swim top. I've even seen cell phones go in there.

For the poll, pocket has always worked well for me. I personally don't care what others do. If a lanyard works for them, great! It's been interesting to read what others feel about the issue. Definitely not as explosive as a thread about tipping. ;-)
