Anthem of the seas is headed back to Cape Liberty now due to a storm

Just heard on ABC news there is also a noro virus outbreak. I have read RCI doesn't get the best marks for health inspections.

Vast difference between not making the "100 score list" and "not getting the best marks". You will notice that nearly every line has at least one or two on the "100" list, but none have all their ships there. The difference between a score of 99 and 100 can be as little as the USPH inspector finding one yogurt container above 40*F. I know, I've been there.

If you look at the wind forecast on this site' date=' there is supposed to be 150mph winds off the coast with the next 48 hours.[/quote']

That is not ground level winds, those are much higher up. They are clearly using weather as an excuse because they can't risk another bad round of PR for something like norovirus even if it isn't the ships fault and they are doing everything they can to clean it up. They are going to hurt themselves by being dishonest, just like they did last time claiming they didn't know a storm was coming when everyone else did.

What were you doing in a yogurt container? No wonder it was above 40 degrees.

Noro Virus. Go have a drink at the schooner bar and they give you a narrow mouth glass jar with peanuts. Watch people put their hands inside the jar to reach the peanuts but when they are finished and leave their table the waitress takes the jar to another table . More hands in the jar.

Ok whatever, to whoever made the comments about the sheets, but my sheets smelled bad (from the moment they were on the bed). AND, I went DAYS without clean towels and when I asked, I got my head bitten off by the horrible stateroom attendant, who btw, got $20 from us on dat 1. It's something I do every trip. ................

Guess that shoots down the theory, that many claim, to get better service by tipping upfront.:D

Bar snacks r not a good thing on a cruise ship.

Or anywhere. Thank the media for giving (Norwalk) the association of being the "cruise ship virus". Fact is GI outbreaks occur anywhere there are groups of people, schools, hotels, care centers, etc. But when there are outbreaks at "the other places" they gain no media attention. But on a cruise ship, oh yes, step right up to the front of the bus!

Fomes are everywhere. People (and... don't take this the wrong way folks!) can and frequently are disgusting and dirty everywhere you go. It's a fact of life.

We were at a bar at a Casino recently and a couple left the bar and another couple sat down and started to eat the peanuts/pretzels the first couple left behind. It happens everywhere... not only on a cruise ship!

I don't understand why everyone thinks that it is always passengers that bring noro onto ships. Isn't it possible a food source is the problem? Look what happened to Chipotle.

Two different things.

If you take a look at the most common cause of how Noro spreads (don't want to be gross here), you will see how it is different.

Yes, that's possible but in the Chipotle situation highly unlikely since that was a food bacteria contamination and that restaurant had violated food safety codes by serving undercooked chicken.

It could have been brought on by a crew member that got it from a peanut container that was previously touched by other patrons at an off the ship bar they got free internet at in port or from the handle of a cart at Walmart where they shopped for personal items.

The greater number of passengers, many who have travelled commercially a ways to get to the cruise, compare to the crew numbers indicate they would be more likely to be the source. ;)

I sailed on the Anthem in November and was signed up for Classic Dining - that is the dining when you rotate thru the dining rooms but the wait staff rotates with you and you are with the same staff and dining mates. I don't believe that Dynamic dining allows you to remain with the same wait staff.

I hopefully have remembered the correct terms they are using. We signed up for Classic dining several months before sailing and had to do it over the phone. Maybe you have the terminology mixed up?

I do believe I had the terminology mixed up. We are booked for the Classic. Thanks for the clarification.

what it comes down to is the captain on this ship made a huge mistake during then last storm. he was real lucky that the ship was not heavily damaged or worse yet passengers were not seriously hurt. rccl is covering their butts!

noro happens, it is a common illness when this many people or in close proximity of each other.

compensation is fair those current passengers. only bad part is paying those nyc hotel prices for those staying for their original flight plans and not to mention taxi fares and food.

So is it a storm or noro? When Oceania brought Riviera back to Miami 2 days early to clean for noro last week they paid for hotel rooms for those 2 nights. For everyone on the ship that wanted them they had buses waiting at the pier to get them there. The right thing to do.
