Royal Suite Class program - Roll Out Date?

Recommended Posts

I got the same email as Tom yesterday and it said for all BUT the comedy show. They said if you are having issues reserving the comedy show, to come see them boarding day. I haven't heard anything back from the genie survey we got, but gave concierge my dining reservations and got a response about an hour ago that they were able to book all my requested times/restaurants.

So I think Andrew may be correct in what he said earlier, some of us 'in the know' may be getting things done before the genie even looks at it onboard.

Some food for thought... it might be interesting to see how tips break out between Genie's and the Concierge if this is the case for the regular suite cruisers. I think for those that might be a bit OCD ;) and in the know (I am raising my hand self recognition) that the old way might still be the best way.

In August we are back on Allure and in a CLS, so I might just email the concierge sooner than later to get a cabana at Labadee. I suspect they will hold the best back for the Genie's and then release the rest to us sluming it.:p I'd rather have some shade in August and be proactive.

Just received a second survey. Everything appears to be the same but in the title of the email, the last two letters are now different. (first was cf and this one is cn) Wondering if that identifies which genie you have?

Also looks like question #2 changed, it used to be something like what do you like to do and now it is "What are three things that you and your travel companion(s) have in common?"

Here are the new questions, as I went through it, some are a little bit different than what they sent on the 13th.

Royal Suite Class Pre-Cruise Questionnaire

Please help us get to know you by answering the following questions:

1. What would constitute a "perfect" day for you?

2. What are three things that you and your travel companion(s) have in common?

3. Is there something you've dreamed of doing for a long time?

4. What is the best surprise you have ever had?

5. Given the choice of anyone in the world, throughout history, whom would you want as a dinner guest?

6. What books are on your summer reading list or what movies are you dying to see?

7. Are you a morning person or more of a night owl?

8. What is your go-to beverage while on vacation?

9. If you could only bring three things with you to a deserted island, what would they be?

10. What are you culinary delights, loves and dislikes?

11. What is your device of choice--Apple or Android? What model do you have?

12. Did you know that 50% of guests onboard are celebrating something? What are you celebrating?

13. Last but not least, is there anything about you that we haven't covered? Please feel free to let us know of everything and anything about you.

That's certainly more comprehensive than what went out initially, and #13 serves as a catch-all. It would seem they're learning...

Maybe I got a weird one last week because the questions were just a little different. Like it said what are you favorite movies versus this one 'what movies are you dying to see'.

We received our invite for our first survey this morning. Linda and I are going to fill it out later today. I imagine it will be like the one above.

Since we're on the same sailing, I find it interesting that I've received nothing yet... oh well!!

Tom

Tom, is this the one where you are in the RLS? If so they might just be planning on giving you everything.:D

EDIT: No questions need be asked.;)

I just checked my email from my September Oasis cruise and there was no mention the the 11-11 drinks in that as well, so it must be an unwritten perk..

Also got the form letter from the concierge for a May 7 Oasis sailing in a Star suite, but nothing directly related to the new Royal Suite Class/Genie rollout.

I was surprise there was no mention in the Concierge email about the new suite perks. The email actually looked the same from a previous email I received.

Nope, the RLS will be our destination on the Oasis next March. For this sailing it's 1758, the "Royal Suite". That's the cabin that they're renaming to "Grand Loft Suite" as of the sailing immediately after ours, even though there's no loft! ;)

Tom - did you book direct or through a TA? I booked direct. Maybe that's why I got it before you? Also - check your spam, as they say...

NicoleandChris - I didn't notice that change until you pointed it out. I definitely got the one without the family references, and since I don't have kids, that works better for me anyway :)

Did you all see the posting from the Ovation Star Class guest ? LOOP texting service to be in touch with your Genie 7 days before your cruise, during the cruise, and 4 days after. That's cool AF.

Couldn't help myself.

I did see that, and I thought that it was a very nice feature that Royal had to comminicate with the Genie.

I didn't see that, But I'll try and find it this morning cause that sounds crazy awesome!

For the survey, we are just sailing the two of us (we don't have kids and have never sailed with anyone else's so not sure where they got the assumption). I guess because we're married they assumed?

No - I booked direct, though transferred my booking to the casino (good for a great discount). I know that some aspects of the reservation can't be handled by the regular folks at Royal, and need to be directed to the casino booking department - but it's not like they're seperately sending out my documents and such. I'll follow up with them in the next week or two if I don't hear anything more. Speaking of hearing from them, I again this morning received another email regarding my booking (so they've "got my number"):

Dear Thomas,

During your cruise vacation, you'll have the opportunity to taste new things and enjoy some favorites as well. As a convenience to you, our valued guest, you can explore the possibilities with our Countdown to Cruise online planning tool. With Royal Caribbean International®, you'll be able to take part in our traditional dining experience or choose from our dining experiences:

- Sign up for My Time Dining. Enjoy the comforts of the dining room at the time you choose. Once you've signed up, you can either reserve your dining times for your cruise vacation online or visit the Maitre'd once onboard. ...

Of course, this email could be pertaining to my Oasis cruise next year, as it makes no mention of ship/sail date/reservation #. That one is also through the casino...

Time will tell!

We received our survey 4/18 for our May 14 sailing. We booked onboard last Feb and transferred to TA. We are 4 adults in a 2 bedroom Aqua suite and we now have to figure out how to answer the survey for us as even though we are brothers and sisters it may be difficult. They also sent the email to the first guest on the booking.
