Royal Suite Class program - Roll Out Date?

Recommended Posts

Great idea for Star Class cocktail party- please let us know how that goes. Maybe we'll try hosting one in November.

Love Genie Margaret's Facebook page- she nicely documented the training and startup process they all went through the past few weeks. Quite fun, and she seems very excited. Quite a few good photos.

Now for a question I did not see documented here- do you think the genies will help organize private tours? I know they will book us on the RCCL excursions, but will they book us via private vendors? I would love to get a water taxi over to St. John rather than catch the ferry. And can anyone who has utilized them comment on whether they are able to pack us picnic lunches to go to secluded beaches? I know in the USVI we are allowed to take food off the ship, so that should not be a barrier as it is in Mexico or other foreign ports. TY in advance for anyone with any info.

Curious, what is her Facebook page name?

Florida Keys Cruiser and MKBruce:

Caribbean Tom and I thinking about doing a cocktail hour with us star class suites and putting the in-room cocktails to the test. Let us know if you're interested :D

Here's is Tom's burner email and he has my real email address if you all want to join in: CTBurner@outlook.com

Sounds like a good idea. We once had a progressive dinner with some suite guests we met in the concierge lounge. We had apps in one room. Main course in another and desert in another and after dinner drinks in the concierge lounge.

I wonder how they would handle non star class guests if they were invited.

I had seen several people asking about whether certain things are included with the specialty dining and I was curious myself so I asked our genie, Smitha. This is the response I received today.

"I would like to confirm that 150 Central Park is included as well as the Wine Pairing. So is Johnny Rockets, Cups & Scoops and Starbucks. I will be more than happy to bring your coffee from Starbucks every morning to your room as per your wish."

I am very surprised that Starbucks is included! I only asked on a whim because my daughter loves Starbucks but I didn't think it would be included.

Well, that just made it a bit easier for me to recoup the added cost of our Sky Loft suite!

I love this idea. Are you thinking of a progressive cocktail party so we can see all the different suites? I will check with my daughters and their boyfriends (who I am traveling with) tomorrow and see what they think and then I will email you. My vacation starts tomorrow.....woohoo!! We are staying three nights in a condo at Pompano Beach.

Oh progressive sounds fun too! I'm not sure we've figured out the details, perhaps this is where Israel and Smitha may be able to help. I think we all want to tour each other's suites so I am definitely up for that!

Jealous your vaca starts tomorrow! We don't start until Thursday afternoon, I'm counting hours at this point!

I was thinking we might give our Genies a break on Saturday by running happy hour from one suite after the life boat drill. It would be a great intro opportunity for us. We do want to see each other's suites though so we could maybe go on tours between drinks. At some point we could run into the CS and see who's there (we have a Pinnacle friend on this cruise). We are doing early seating this trip so we may leave before the rest of you. We're thinking CK that evening but aren't sure.

More Genie info posted on Facebook by Genie Margaret:

"Good evening (or morning!) lovely people. We're now four days into Royal Suite Service on Oasis, and I believe it is a great success! Many have wondered what their Royal Genie can do for them. Here are a few examples from these first days of the services we've provided and special requests we've had the pleasure of assisting our guests with:

Your Genie will get you and your luggage straight through Security. Our typical Fort Lauderdale guests were in their suites within 20 minutes of arrival, and their luggage showed up before they did. (But PLEASE let your Genie suggest an arrival time to avoid congestion. We have an entire team assisting with this which involves FOUR Departments. Please work with us to schedule your arrival.)

Your Genie can set your evening itinerary of shows and top restaurants to insure you experience all we have to offer onboard.

A call from your Genie can cut a room service wait from 45 minutes to 15-20 minutes.

Your Genie can reserve the best seats at every show. While others are waiting in line forty minutes before the show for open seating, you'll just walk up to your Genie and be escorted to the best seats, each with a Reserved cloth on them.

Your Genie will set you up with a private meeting with Port Shopping experts -The same experts others only see at huge seminars or after 20 minutes in line on port days. They'll sit with you and devise your perfect shopping strategy.

Your Genie will make sure you get a pic with the Captain (at the Suite Reception in the Concierge Lounge).

Your Genie will find flowers for your wife on Sunday in Nassau when everything is closed! smile emoticon

Your Genie will make sure you get the cake you loved two years before on another RCL ship delivered to your room.

Those are just a few of the things we've been doing for our guests these first few days. This is so much FUN!! But obviously we can't do it alone. It's a TEAM EFFORT. Every crew member onboard plays a part in delivering Genie Service! We're just the point of contact. But the guests seem happy to just be able to enjoy their cruise without the usual lines, or calling multiple departments. Hope these examples help you get an idea of how your Genie can assist."

"Hello again! I've been using some spare time to check out Cruise Critic to see what people are asking. One question that pops up is the gratuities for Genies. Regarding the prepaid gratuities, those go to Housekeeping and wait staff. The Genies do not receive any part of those gratuities. Thank you for asking."

Still plugging the suggested arrival times I see. ;)

I noticed it too. If we are asked to come at later time we might suggest the Genie meet us at the Flowrider. I know it is their job to give us top shelf treatment and they will. However, if the wave is open I'm not waiting. :p

John, I like Bella's (if I remembered her name correctly) latest pic with Lamb Chops. She looks so sharp with her nice grooming. Sadly my in-laws just had to put down their Molly on Friday after 13 years. Your pup sure reminds me of their dog in her younger years. Even though pets are just animals, they do have a way becoming family.

I guess at least we'll have contact before the sailing so I can relay my thoughts, but I just can't see myself waiting until later to show up in most cases. Hotel checkout time is usually 11, so we'd have nothing to do if we waited until 12:30 or 1:00 before heading to the port. I suppose I could see about late checkout, I do have status with a few hotel chains that are supposed to guarantee that.

I hope the Genies don't spend too much time on CC. :D:eek:

It's great Margaret is coming to check it out and help with answers. It really shows how she wants to help. If they spend too much time here they might think some of the folks on the CC boards are as carzy as the lady who got off the ship in Falmouth Jamaica. :p I'm just making a generalized comment and not focusing on anyone in this thread.:)

EDIT: If they do spend some time here they should have a few good laughs along the way.

So has anyone else had an issue fining margaret's page this morning? I saw the two updates, but now her page seems to be gone? Wonder if Royal found out and made her remove it?

Which would be a shame because it was the best information we've been able to get as their call centers know literally nothing of the program.

Hmm you are right - I can no longer find the page. It was a very interesting read and didn't divulge anything confidential so I am disappointed it is gone.

She is the centerpiece of my instagram account. Plus cruising and Cocoa Beach. Just search for durlandjohn if you do instagram

I just looked and could find it either. It was up maybe 90 minutes ago.

So less fun than Florida Keys Cruiser's information from yesterday, but I wanted to know about disembarkation so we can arrange our transportation and this is what we got:

"For the debarkation, please note that we have a farewell breakfast between 07:00 am to 08:30 am. I will be escorting you off the ship once you are ready after the breakfast. "

Not sure if she's accounting for the time she'll have to spend literally dragging me off the ship :p

i saw it before lunch and after lunch, the FB page was gone!

It's unfortunate, but RCL probably wants to use only 'official' channels for dissemination of information. Margaret was trying to be helpful, but probably stepped on someones toes.
