The rest of the afternoon was very lazy, so much so that there is a large gap where I did not take a single picture. I guess we went to the Solarium, as that is the only pic I have. I also remember someone telling me in the solarium pool, that someone had died on the ship. I am not entirely sure how true that is. He said that it was near his room, and roped the area while they got her out of the room.

Yes, that’s rack of lamb. Just like in Disney :D

The fries were not as good as I remember them on Allure. Then again, I was a new cruiser back then, and everything amazed me :D

We left the casino broke, but happy that we helped built Harmony =)

Once in the Promenade we realized that they had another Dreamwork parade about to start. Mom and I rushed to get a good spot, but it was packed. We ended up in the place where they sell all the pictures. It was actually not a bad spot at all. But I will say it one more time, the prime location is the first row in Sorrentos.

I have no clue what he was doing there, that guy had a mind of its own.

The only issue with that location was that I never got to see the horses. They do their turn around in front of Sorrentos. And that is why I enjoyed the other Parade much more!

Day 10

We woke up early and ready to go. I usually like getting off the ship ASAP to avoid lines and such. We also always bring our own bags, after the time that Celebrity lost our luggage.

When we got to the promenade it was a big mess. There was no one directing traffic, and no one knew where to go. After about 10 minutes, and talking to a lot of people who also had no idea. We found our line.

It took us a total 1:30 from the time we left the room, to the time we got into the car to drive home. Not bad at all I think, the line always moved fairly fast.

Conclusion and Score to come.

When you mentioned the metal plates on the ropes are to stop the rodents from getting onto the ship, I can see why. The ropes make a great passage for the mice/rats to enter into the ships. The things we learn, right?

I can't seem to remember where I saw that, it was either on a movie or a tv show.

Gambee, just beautiful pictures of the OFS, and the local area of San Juan at night. Thanks for sharing.

Very welcome, glad you enjoyed them :)

I saw it on a YouTube video of " Cruise Ship Diaries" it was about the Divina. I remember because I thought it was very interesting, and wanted to remember to tell my family the next time we cruised.

The Izumi case there was no need for replacement or anything, those were the rolls they made and I just happened to think that they could do better. We got what we ordered, and it was just as described in the menu. And actually we had one of the rolls modified.

As far as the drink goes, that is a different situation. With drinks it really depends on the hand of the bartender, some have a heavy hand and some have a light hand. Most have light hands, as having a heavy hand can get them into trouble. I usually spend a few days in each cruise spotting the ones with a heavy hand, I like my drinks strong. I guess you could say he wen't by the book?

Either way it is not my style to complain, unless it is fully necessary. Like it was with the balcony situation. As long as I am enjoying myself, it is all good.

Thank you for following :)

You're welcome--very much enjoyed your review, and the others of yours I've read. From your description of the drink, it has nothing to do with a heavy or light hand--he made the drink wrong, period. A martini is never half spirit/half vermouth, so I don't think he went by the book. Maybe he was just sloppy.

I hope you get your dachshund someday. Since I'm allergic and can't have a dog, we enjoy our friends' and neighbors' pups. My co-worker has her chi-weenie with her today (a short-haired Chihuahua and dachshund mix--he looks like a tiny, short-legged Doberman).

PS: Pinocchio is ALWAYS cute in the DreamWorks parades. :D

Amazing review. It's funny as it feels sad seeing day 9 and 10...it's like we were on the cruise with you and then it gets to the end. Thanks so much for sharing. I've seen your reviews in the past and they stand out.

We were just on Allure so neat to compare. (Recent posts of the parade looks very similar).

That's correct. We lived on our sailboat for several years in the Caribbean. When we would shop, we made sure that no cardboard ever entered our boat. So we would take cereal, crackers, etc out of their cardboard boxes and just store the plastic bags that they came in. It made for quite a bit of work on the dock but we never got cockroaches like several of our friends did. Cockroaches tend to lay their eggs in the folds of cardboard.

Considering that the event is not rare on a 7 night cruise the odds of it happening on your cruise were much better.

That makes sense. I guess you don't really think about it, but I bet it happens often with that many people. Sad though

Being a physician I have had many chats with ships' physicians over the years. You have to remember that many elderly people cruise and they bring their medical issues along with them. Even those who are very stable will sometimes get into trouble from the dietary, sleep, and activity level changes. Those changes create a fair amount of stress on the body. I always have to make sure that my mother has diuretics to use on cruises or her ankles swell with fluid from the dietary changes and amount of salt in the food.

Medical issues rearing its head for a few is a sad reality of what is a very happy vacation for the vast majority of cruisers.

Thanks for another awesome review Gambee! Congrats on starting the PT program and on your US citizenship, too! I have been fortunate enough to sail on the Allure and Oasis and will one day sail on Harmony when my son is tall enough to ride all the slides (he is 5 now). Hopefully the prices will decrease in a few years, too. I have been disappointed in the nickel and diming on RC (with all the mainstream cruise lines really) and was shocked when I bought 2 frozen daquaris on Oasis and the bill was $28!! I have not been too pleased with all the fake 'sales' RC runs, too. I stick to mostly Carnival and NCL as of recently...am sailing on the Getaway on May 8 and considered the Escape on May 7-would have been fun to meet you!

I also want to say I can only hope one day that my son and I will have such a close relationship as you and your mom do! I'm a single parent and raising a child on my own is the toughest thing I have ever done, but also the most rewarding.

I look forward to your Escape review! :D
