No one has ever sung it like Kate. And no one ever will again.

I'll never forget when she sang it, live, at the Spectrum. Wow.

Gosh, I remember Kate Smith Hour at 4pm in the afternoons .. my grandmother loved that program. Not sure how long it was on, but I couldnt wait till it was over so Mickey Mouse Club would come on.

 

Thanks to everyone who gave up part of their live to serve our great country.

I would have guessed 1974, but I do know we're both right that it was mid-70s. Stanley Cup finals game is the time I'm thinking of. IIRC, Flyers took it in the 6th game---with no violence!
