We will be on the Liberty, at the end of the month, I understand we can bring 2 bottles of wine on. Is that 2 per person, so 4 for me and hubby, or is it 2 per cabin? How big bottle can we bring? The large bottles? Or is it restricted to the normal size bottles? Thanks for the information:)

It's 2 per cabin...normal sized bottles. Make sure it's in your carry on luggage. Have a great cruise!! We'll be on her in October.

All of the above is the official policy - what you can actually bring and get on board is another matter. Many folks simply separate at security and have 2 bottles each.:cool:

That's true, too. But I have seen them check bottles and record your room number at check-in. I don't think they do that at every port, but the more people try to game the system (and talk on CC about how they game the system), the more likely they'll expand those checks. ;)

I have seen many terminals and have never seen staff ask for room numbers. Where have you experienced this? I am curious. ;)

I saw it at Terminal 18 at Port Everglades, once, for an Indy boarding back in 2012.

NCL used Royals terminal in PC this past spring for Saturday departure. But that was before the change.

We don't normally carry on wine. But we did once recently and we had to go to a table where they recorded two bottles with our stateroom number. I don't know, but assumed, that is to prevent passengers from cheating as you describe. This was on the Liberty out of Galveston.

Both New Orleans (when they were still sailing out of there) and Galveston.

With the drinks in both lounges, the 3 drink vouchers, and our two bottles

of wine from our gift preferences, we found taking on that additional two

bottles allowed per stateroom for a one week cruise was more than enough. :eek:

 

And sometimes we even end up taking one of the bottles we brought on back home.

 

Do I need to step up my drinking? ;) :p :p

So you booked a cruise and read the terms about being able to bring wine. I'm almost certain wherever this was mentioned it clearly stated that it was per stateroom and not per person.

If you're wishing to bring personal wine or champagne onboard with you on embarkation day, you may do so. The limit is two (2) bottles (no boxes) of 750ml each per stateroom.

What if you split up, and go through separate check-in lines, each carrying on two bottles, plus have a couple more bottles in your checked luggage? Is that okay? ;)
