Price Changes Harmony TA

Recommended Posts

Just for fun I have been trying to figure out Royal's pricing structure. Below are the price changes on the Harmony Transatlantic October 2016.

The prices are for a C2 Central Park Balcony, which we have booked - enjoyed the C2 on Oasis.

We booked on day of release at $999 per person less the C&A $350 balcony discount plus $111 taxes and fees.

In June 2015 we took advantage of the 30 for 30 sale, the base price went up to £1221 per person with the discounts reducing it to $840 p.p. again we received the $350 C&A balcony discount plus $111 taxes and fees.

2015‑03‑18 $999

2015‑03‑19 $1,019

2015‑04‑28 $1,069

2015‑05‑18 $1,135

2015‑06‑02 $840

2015‑06‑04 $871

2015‑06‑05 $854

2015‑06‑12 $871

2015‑07‑27 $1,516

2015‑08‑04 $1,566

2015‑08‑06 $1,590

2015‑08‑11 $1,615

2015‑08‑17 $1,798

2015‑11‑10 $2,499

2016‑02‑01 $2,677

2016‑02‑08 $2,652

2016‑02‑15 $2,677

2016‑02‑16 $3,825

2016‑04‑03 $2,677

2016‑04‑04 $2,390

2016‑05‑01 $2,868

2016‑05‑02 $2,677

2016‑05‑15 $2,706

2016‑06‑06 $2,776

2016‑06‑17 $2,736

2016‑07‑28 $2,925

2016‑08‑03 $2,975

2016‑08‑10 $2,776

It surprised me to see the difference between the lowest and highest prices and does show that on this particular cruise, booking early really has paid off.

Final payment date has now passed and it will be interesting to see if any prices drop from the very high prices currently, I will be watching.

Same for us on the 16th October Sailing..

We paid £1750 (£875 each including gratuities) for an Ocean View Cabin and that INCLUDED a 'Free' Select Drinks Package.

Insides are now selling for £3400 (£1700 each) and NO 'free' drinks package

Alarming

We booked a B1 Boardwalk Balcony March 24, 2015 at $1059pp + $80.14tx with a $175 cabin credit.

The best price my online cruise agent is giving today for B1 is $1770pp +$81.33 with Free Prepaid Gratuities ($351.00 Value) and $300.00 cabin credit.

So if my calculations are correct we saved around $950 by booking early.

The highest price for B1 according to CF was $ 2,652. on 2016‑03‑16

I booked by June 2015 (sale 30-30). I paid $ 3200 for cabin D2 2 persons. Now it is $ 5700! The price is in US. dollars. In Canadian $ it is 8000$:(. Glad to book early! :)

The rise in harmony price taught me 2 things.

1. If you are going on a brand new ship book early cause it will be a popular cruise. So it will sell good if not sell out. Thus the reason in th rise in prices.

2. Since I don't need to sail on the latest and greatest So I can wait till the ship is older and cheaper.

Buy the way I got a HA balcony room for 1000 pp with a drink package and tips.

I think RCI underestimated the demand on the TA (which is usually low) and priced it low to start (like other TAs). TAs have their own pricing trends regardless of ship. The Quantum TA prices stayed low despite the fact it was also the maiden voyage and sold well below capacity.

True, new ships have always been more expensive. But Harmony is really overpriced.

Hope you not only brag about the low price you got and how it increased bit also keep track of the price-drops - as the price has come down about 50% within the last 7 days and its seems there is going to be even more price-drops coming as there are quite a few cabins still up for sale....

Would not be surprised if the price drops below the lowest price that was ever offered on this TA!

The risk that is always present when booking early ... though using that time to book tours, airfare, etc, tends to balance any price drop.

Sounds much like the prices for the April 2017 TA on Jewel. I booked a D1 aft the night the pricing opened and it was $854 Canadian each (no taxes included). There are no D1's left now but a D2 is $1616 USDeach which converts to approximately $2064 Canadian each.

I know prices will drop after final payment but I am just happy to have secured an aft for this crossing and booking early was the only way to do it. ;)
