Crusin' from Fl Posted August 11, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 11, 2016 Just boarded on the 8th and the Fish & Chips is now gone. It's been replaced by the BBQ joint, which serves pork, chicken and beef. The BBQ food is excellent and the Cole slaw & potato salad are good too. Micahs Grandad Posted August 11, 2016 #8 Share Posted August 11, 2016 Always thought the fish was too greasy so stopped going. Glad they made the change
khewston Posted August 11, 2016 #9 Share Posted August 11, 2016 Oh No!!! We are going in April and I really wanted to try the fish. My sister went and said it was the best fried fish she has ever had!
SMSACE6 Posted August 11, 2016 #10 Share Posted August 11, 2016 I found that the fish and chips were hit or miss, sometimes ok, but more often too greasy and soggy. I did however love the ceviche, the calamari fritters and the bouillabaisse. I am not a fan of the BBQ joint concept, but would try it once. I just don't eat much meat anymore. But things will change, and some will like it or love it, and some wont. I wonder if Carnival plans on replacing all the fish and chip places with BBQ. BNBR Posted August 11, 2016 #12 Share Posted August 11, 2016 Definitely prefer Fish and Chips over BBQ. Let's hope no surprises in Oct!
HawkIVette Posted August 11, 2016 #13 Share Posted August 11, 2016 Also sorry to see the Fish & Chips go, as I liked it too. But will gladly try the BBQ if is is real BBQ, or at least as good as a cruise ship can do BBQ.
NCTribeFan Posted August 11, 2016 #14 Share Posted August 11, 2016 Fish & Chips is supposed to be greasy! Sheesh, folks! But the chips are also supposed to be the fat ones so they soak up your malt vinegar. Bummer. I loved having lunch up there. I also absolutely loved the tuna & watermelon appetizer. I could eat multiples of those every time. Such an interesting taste combination. I live in NC. I can get all the great BBQ I want any day of the week. :( Oh well. I manage to sail on Fantasy class ships that have none of the newer dining venues and I manage to not go hungry! Next up are Splendor and Pride, which never had F&C anyway, so I'll just have to make do with deli sandwiches or burritos. Poor me! :p

joepeka Posted August 11, 2016 #16 Share Posted August 11, 2016 Thanks, maybe Conquest is just a "test"???? I was speculating this notion with someone.... if the BBQ is a bust, perhaps they will return the F&C. Conversely.....

TheTravelista Posted August 11, 2016 #25 Share Posted August 11, 2016 Are there any pics? I'm interested in seeing how they converted the space and where the smoker is?? I didn't think this venue could be indoors.
