What did you love about your Slot Pull ??

Somehow, I volunteered to organize a Slot Pull on my cruise. I must have been practicing for the Cheers program. I do not have a problem giving my money to the Casino Overlords or helping others do it in an organized manner but I would like to make it fun.

 

Would anyone like to give me some feedback from on Slot Pulls (SP) you joined?

 

Is there a machine you like?

So far we have played SPs in Wheel of Fortune. Everyone seems to like calling for the bonus spins.

 

15 or 20 dollars? (for example)

If 15 then everyone plays their three max bet pulls

If 20 then the extra five is put in a pool for prizes like best pull, most extra spins

 

Yes, I have searched “Slot Pull” on CC and there are great ideas.

I just wonder if anyone wants to give input on variations you really liked.

I'll never join another slot pull because the guy who sponsored it put his card in the slot, got all of the points, and drank free for the week. He's the only one who won anything.

I don't mind your green type. We've joined a couple of slot pulls & had a good time. What you've posted here sounds like the way our were handled- $15-20 per person in a $1 slot, giving each player equal pulls- winnings split between players. It also doesn't really bother me if the organizer gets the points. It's nice when ea player uses their own card, but not a deal breaker for me. I enjoy the team spirit.

Kind of what I was thinking too. Regardless I don't play the slots so I don't care whose card is in the machine. I've also never participated in a slot pull but it sounds fun!

I doubt they would show a split prize for 25 or more winners. Does one person take the hit for all? Some thing that should be mentioned prior to the event.

I seem to always to be sponsoring a Slot Pull event. I post a list of rules, including I use my card and handle all the money split, and the fact that 25% will be withheld for taxes in the

event of a BIG jackpot. In my Roll Call for the Miracle November 26 you could do a search for slot pull and find it. I'm on my tablet now and can't post a link right now.;)

 

We always have a great time. Another opportunity to get together. We all count everyone's pull aloud and Cheer when we WIN! :D

There were 11 people in our group. We each walked away with an extra $15. Not bad but not worth the hour it took during the last day of the cruise. It took way too late long and interrupted the day. I have skipped numerous ones because it is always mid-day and I did not go on a cruise to sit in a smokey casino.

Mine have all had 30 - 60 and take about one and half hours. I always have them at 10:30am on the first seaday. After breakfast done before lunch, not to smokey, its still early ;) not much else going on at this time made for great attendance! :D

 

Accept on my Hawaii cruise, we have 4 seadays coming and going, so I am having 2 events on the second seaday each way, lol

Usually there is always a Canadian/ Non US citizen in the group that can claim the prize an avoid the tax.

If your are the organizer, I see nothing wrong in you putting your card in for the points...it's not that many points after all! I believe that since you are hosting, doing the roll call count, counting and dividing the money, taking the time out of your vacation to talk to the casino staff etc that is worth something.. IMO if the $15 worth of points for each individual is THAT important, perhaps participation in such events is not for them... Plus, it takes sooooo much longer if EACH person puts their cards in!

Exactly ! I've gone to the casino host(ess) and they handled this . In total I got an assortment of shirts , drink coupons , 2for1 chips and key chains to be distributed .

Also my understanding is they will "break up" the winning into the amount of participants .

Yes, it takes a ton to get free drinks - one slot pull amounts to peanuts.

 

We had 27 folks play for over an hour on the slot pull I organized -- we played a lot -- it takes 1500 points for free drinks, I had maybe 300 points from the slot pull - come on, really cruising maniac.

 

But on to the slot pull topic -- we had a group of 17 of us playing on the Oasis of the Seas, I always pick a Wheel of Fortune because it's fun if you get a spin. We actually hit the $1000 prize! We all cashed out with $60.00 from our original $15.00 -- tons of fun and easy to manage. We've participating in slots pulls where they have 1/2 the money goes to the largest winning spin, the other half to the players, etc. Too much organization.

We had a slot pull scheduled on my recent "Paradise" cruise, and I really enjoyed the fact that nobody showed up for it, and I came out of it with the $20 still in my pocket. SWEET! :cool:

I participated in my first slot pull last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. The only thing that could have improved it would have been choosing a slot machine (such as Wheel of Fortune) that has the bonus on the top of the machine, where everybody can see it.

OP - Most of our roll calls have generally done $15. Our last roll call did $21 and had alot of people participating. We didn't participate, but saw it was still going on about an hour later.

 

Part of the fun is to be able to see the machine and cheer the person on. For this group, people were standing 4-5 deep and they weren't able to see the machine.

 

On our slot pulls, the person who organized it used their S&S card.

I participated in one slot pull, several years ago. It was early in the cruise and the purpose was for our roll call members to get to know one another and have some fun. Since no one was there for a big win, we only did $5 per person. We ended up winning just a little more than what we put in, so we all went home with our $5 plus some change. The casino divided our win into individual portions. We enjoyed getting to know each other better and had a good time.
