Ever been in a cabin close to the elevator?

Cabin # 6542 LOS. I just noticed it close to the elevator. Has anyone experienced much noise in this or a similar cabin? thanks

Don't know about LOS but we have had a few cabins near the elevators and it's never been an issue.

We also have been by the elevator and have never heard any noise, I wouldn't worry - we were on deck 10 on the Oasis, I believe :)

I always choose as close to elevators as possible. They are virtually silent...

No problem with noise coming from the elevator. Problem comes from the people who get off the elevator late at night and Don't realize how LOUD they are talking.

No problems for us on both Voyager and Freedom class close to the elevators.

We had a close to the elevator cabin on one of our Freedom cruises and there was not a problem noise wise as the elevators doors face inwards to a separate alcove waiting area.

We had a similar cabin on Anthem and again noise wasn't a problem in spite of us being right across from the forward elevator area.

Exactly. The elevator itself isn't loud at all ... but when you're near the elevator, you're in a high-traffic area, and those people are LOUD. I won't stay mid-ship again.

That's for sure and this inconsiderate types do that all the way down the ship's corridors not just at the elevators. :mad:

We were on the freedom first cabin in the corridor we heard no noise from elevators but some from people entering corridor and a few times ringing our doorbell.

Well, looks pretty unanimous! We always try and get by the elevator. Love the location, and the noise never an issue.

Should be no problem unless someone's adorable children are allowed to roam free and congregate near the elevator and stairway

Never any problems here either. If we have a choice, we always take the room close to the elevator.

Late night partiers make more noise than the elevators. We did have problems on one trip that I thought was possibly the elevator, but decided later that it was a check valve in the plumbing. Sounded like someone hit the metal pipes with a hammer when someone flushed upstairs.

 

Earplugs. Don't forget the earplugs.

Being near the stair/elevator FOYER is a BONUS! So convenient! There is no added noise....it's not clearly shown on the deck plans, but those areas are in a separate FOYER! Rejoice and be happy!

We've been close to elevators on several ships. They are very quiet. The most noise we've ever had was when we are close to the Centrum, and not from what you think. It's from wind and motion and things banging around. Usually, it's the aerialist equipment moving around. Elevators make virtually no noise on ships.

Every sailing e've been on has been on hump balconies close to the elevator and we've had no issues!

We were in cabin 6644 on Freedom of the seas and loved the cabin convenient location. Enjoy.

We always try to book close to the elevators. No noise. It is so nice getting off the elevators and being so close to your cabin. DW has some mobilty issues so not having to walk too far down the long corridor is great for us.
