DFWJean&Bill Posted October 20, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 20, 2016 Do you think it would get the cabin attendant in trouble if we told him\her we didn't need the towel animals? We appreciate the artistry but having cruised many times, I would like to give him\her a break. Different story when the grandkids come, they love them! karena1 Posted October 20, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 20, 2016 Probably not, but I love getting them. Even after all the cruises we have been on, they are just so cute when you walk into your cabin in the evening!!
Langley Cruisers Posted October 20, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 20, 2016 S/he would not get in trouble, but we told ours that once and it totally threw her! I mean, she was really flustered! They obviously have a routine which includes time to make the towel animals. Anyway, she confessed to us that it confuzzled her and she left us one more after that and no more. After that we decided not to mess with a cabin attendant's head again. ;):D
mrpayroll Posted October 20, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 20, 2016 No problem. They would probably appreciate it. :)
Desert Cruizers Posted October 20, 2016 #5 Share Posted October 20, 2016 Once cruise, we moved our towel animals over to the Sofa so they could watch the TV. Our cabin steward left them there.:)

mcchane1 Posted October 21, 2016 #7 Share Posted October 21, 2016 We don't need any either but our next cruise our kids are going and they have never cruised. They might enjoy them. We are staying the Royal Family Suite which has 2 bedrooms, do you think we will get 2?
Rare JamesEM Posted October 21, 2016 #8 Share Posted October 21, 2016 I ask the attendant to skip making the animals and just leave the extra towels, and they seem fine with that.
annee Posted October 21, 2016 #9 Share Posted October 21, 2016 Our granddaughter loves to cruise with us and especially likes the towel animal each evening. When we went on Princess, she wanted to go until I told her there weren't any towel animals!

We appreciate the artistry but having cruised many times, I would like to give him\her a break. Different story when the grandkids come, they love them! Every time we have told the attendant that they could skip the towel animals, they take it as a challange to create more unique animals. So it accomplishes the exact opposite what we intended, which was to reduce their workload. We don't mention it anymore.
hapster85 Posted October 21, 2016 #14 Share Posted October 21, 2016 On our Anthem cruise this summer, we only got 2 or 3 over a 9 day cruise, which was fine with us, but we did kind of miss seeing them. My wife's sister, in the room next door, got a different one almost every night. We guessed it was because we told the steward it was her first cruise, but we never actually asked about it. pk_crusing Posted October 21, 2016 #15 Share Posted October 21, 2016 The best one I got was a birthday cake... in the morning and then another one that night. Personally I love them, but I have only gone on one cruise, so who knows I may get sick of them

Philly Steve Posted October 21, 2016 #17 Share Posted October 21, 2016 We usually take a pass and tell our attendant we know how hard they work. Remember when they used to fold your clothing into animal shapes and did not use towels? :)
bigque Posted October 21, 2016 #18 Share Posted October 21, 2016 We like coming back to the room and seeing the towel animals! But if they don't do them or stop altogether it would be no big deal!

Remember when they used to fold your clothing into animal shapes and did not use towels? :) Yes. In the 90's they used to make Sallie's night gown (etc.) into the animals. Evidently they got too many complaints about messing with the intimate clothing.

We don't mention them either, except to thank them when they so "appear". After seeing numerous ones on multiple cruises...this one's our favorite just this past April on Adventure of the Seas - tremendous imagination and obvious effort to be creative:

tokyotea Posted October 22, 2016 #24 Share Posted October 22, 2016 We didn't have any the 7 nights we were on LOS (1st cruise with RCCL). We just thought that was another thing they did away with. That was the first time we never received them on a cruise and it was a bummer. No Cruise Compass left in our room either. We found those at Guest Services each morning.
