doxiegal Posted November 18, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 18, 2016 Greetings, we just got off the Regal Princess this last Sunday. Wow!! What a fantastic cruise... This was our 4th time sailing on Princess and 1st time on the Regal, and it was by far the best of all 4 Princess cruises. Food was exceptional. Normally we eat in the main dining room most evenings but on this particular cruise we ate 5 out of the 7 nights in the buffet. The selection and variety of food in the buffet was endless. They had some type of shrimp every evening and a variety of salads and carved meats etc..... Ship is beautiful, well taken care of, and always very clean.... We won in the casino, and saw lot's of people winning as well. Good selection and variety in the slot machines and they had $6 BJ every night too. I have been on over 30 cruises and this one was by far in the 5 for me. No complaints !!

Astro Flyer Posted November 18, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 18, 2016 Thanks for sharing your Regal experiences...we've sailed over 6 weeks on the Royal & Regal so obviously we enjoy this class of ship. My one complaint is that I have to fly to sail on them because none are on the West Coast. ;) Although next fall we're flying to Europe for another long TA cruise on the Royal Princess. islandatsea Posted November 18, 2016 #4 Share Posted November 18, 2016 Thanks for your Regal review. We have cruised on the Regal enjoying the selection at the Buffet plus the ample seating there. We are cruising on the Royal Princess in 8 days & looking forward to that cruise too.

Rare Hlitner Posted November 19, 2016 #10 Share Posted November 19, 2016 Agree with the OP (we are just off our 2nd Regal cruise). Our only complaints are the small balconies (it is what it is) and the lack of a center stairway (which will likely be corrected at her next drydock). Our other generic Princess complaint is the constant noise around the main pool (mostly MUTS). We guess that some folks enjoy the constant noise pollution on Princess ships...but have met few that will admit it :). Hank

Pirate1946 Posted November 19, 2016 #18 Share Posted November 19, 2016 Leaving on Regal 2/5 for 7 days with dw and I really liked seeing all these positive reviews. doxiegal Posted November 19, 2016 Author #19 Share Posted November 19, 2016 Our itinerary was Princess Cays ( beautiful ) Grand Cayman, Costa Maya & Cozumel. I do not remember a single one of any of the activities staff. I could take a look at my patters and find out if need be. We did see some production shows. We saw the welcome aboard show, the comedian ( quite funny ) and one show called Fierra (sp?) We did not watch any of the MUTS. Quite frankly, it's just not our thing. We feel we can see a movie anytime back home and we didn't want to waste our vacation time watching them. Many people spent the sea days watching them and seemed to enjoy the movies. One thing I didn't note on my mini review was I felt that there was definetly ample lounge chairs and areas on the deck for sunning. Some ships I feel lack this. But the Regal had plenty of places to go.

Grego Posted November 20, 2016 #21 Share Posted November 20, 2016 Always nice to hear a good positive review of one of the ships. The Royal class ships are one of our very favorites having sailed on them 7 times now. They are truly beautiful and the great design and cuisine of the Horizon Court/Bistro area is a gem. Correctly mentioned are the variety and quality of the food presented there. Alfredo's is another favorite spot with a very nice menu, quick attentive service and perfect location for a quick lunch or light evening meal. The small annoyances frequently mentioned in other threads regarding the Regal, will go away next year and we can get back to the positive information about itinerary and advice making the voyage even better. dmdiver Posted November 21, 2016 #23 Share Posted November 21, 2016 (edited) I thought Regal was a beautiful ship, although a bit difficult for me to navigate. I usually know my way around pretty well after a few days, but not this time. I did not like having to weave my way through the casino to get from one end of the ship to the other. Basically, the design of the ship prevents you from being able to see all the way down a hallway/deck. I think that's why I had such a hard time finding my way around. Maybe if I had booked a b2b I would have it figured out by the end. Or maybe a b2b2b Edited November 21, 2016 by dmdiver

Or maybe a b2b2b Sorry to hear that the Regal was a bit difficult for you to navigate & based on your signature this was your first Princess cruise. All of the main locations on most Princess ships are in the same location so it's not a problem for regular Princess passengers to find their way around the Regal. ;) Not sure why it was necessary to weave through the casino when going from one end of the ship to the other. Promenade is the main passenger deck (7) & runs the full length of the ship without having to weave through the casino on Fiesta deck (6).
