lojill Posted December 5, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 5, 2016 We have cruised the Caribbean in November, February, April and September and have had great cruises. We wanted to know when is the best time to cruise and get the best price without going during hurricane season.

The Caribbean is pretty close to being a buyers market with so many ships and cabins that have to be filled.
molly361 Posted December 5, 2016 #3 Share Posted December 5, 2016 I have found the day after Thanksgiving until a week before Christmas to have good prices. Also the first couple of weeks in January.
Clarea Posted December 5, 2016 #4 Share Posted December 5, 2016 We've found the first week of January (not including New Year's) to be one of the less expensive times to cruise.
atnolan94 Posted December 5, 2016 #5 Share Posted December 5, 2016 Once kids go back to school after the new year so the second, third, and fourth full weeks in january can be good. Our Allure Cruise January 8th was a pretty good deal I must say!

It is the chance you take. I agree that the best deals can be found from Thanksgiving to pre Christmas. The decorations pop up over night after Thanksgiving.:)

lojill Posted December 5, 2016 Author #8 Share Posted December 5, 2016 That is probably the reason the airport was crowded Sunday in Ft Lauderdale. So the best way is to book early and go during those times?
kalliekae Posted December 6, 2016 #9 Share Posted December 6, 2016 We book a year of more in advance, always go the week after Thanksgiving, and the prices are pretty good at that time. Occasionally, we've found a few good deals for early February cruises.
Canadian Tyler Posted December 6, 2016 #10 Share Posted December 6, 2016 Early part of January usually for me.
kruzerci Posted December 6, 2016 #11 Share Posted December 6, 2016 Early to mid December is a sweet spot for us. My favorite time to cruise is May-July, so we usually do the end of May for decent summer prices and our second cruise is usually in December because of the fantastic deals. We like the longer daylight hours and weather in the summer but appreciate the Christmas decor and cheap fares in December. It also makes us have our Christmas shopping and decorating done before we leave for our December cruises.

Unfortunately, we have also had some January cruises where is was quite cold from Florida all the way down to the Caribbean. This past January on Oasis being one of the cold ones. mafig Posted December 6, 2016 #17 Share Posted December 6, 2016 September /October ~ hurricane season in the Caribbean. After Thanksgiving to before Christmas. One other time frame that I've found good deals on ..... after Easter when Spring Break is over and just before the ships reposition. We've found some great deals then. Weather is great also.:)

Rare Essiesmom Posted December 6, 2016 #19 Share Posted December 6, 2016 How flexible is your schedule? How far out do you have to plan? I have seen great deals on emails from the cruise lines a few months out. Just go to their websites and sign up for email specials. EM
