Mustang2015 Posted January 3, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 3, 2017 Greetings, we are new to cruising. We just went on a 8 night eastern caribbean cruise , freedom of the seas and loved it. This spring instead of going back home state Colorado for a week we are going on a cruise. We invited my parents and brother and sister in law whom never cruised before. We have narrowed it down too 2, exact same price. Options 1. Navigator of the seas 9 day ports of call Haiti curaco bonaire aruba. We stopped at Haiti had a nice time however unfamiliar with other stops and ship. Looked at pictures of the stopped was impressed. Option 2. Oasis of the seas 7 night stops Haiti Falmouth and Cozamel. The mega ship oasis is a selling point however husband told me he will not get off the ship as 8 years ago his wallet was stolen there. Thanks for your advice.
Clarea Posted January 3, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 3, 2017 I'd do Navigator to the Southern Caribbean. Longer cruise, more interesting ports.
Phenommom Posted January 3, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 3, 2017 Ironic. I just started a topic regarding the classes of ships. Would most definitely do the Oasis!! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Desert Cruizers Posted January 3, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 3, 2017 I agree, do the Navigator, with 9 days and more interesting Ports. We haven't been on an Oasis Class but comparing Ports alone, the 9 days would be nicer.

Mnamom1105 Posted January 3, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 3, 2017 Personally, I would do Navigator - longer cruise and ports I myself have not been to.
Fouremco Posted January 3, 2017 #7 Share Posted January 3, 2017 Definitely the Navigator. Southern Caribbean itineraries are always our favourite, and those extra two days are a definite plus.
SPacificbound Posted January 3, 2017 #8 Share Posted January 3, 2017 The longer cruise would be my choice. Hubby should leave his wallet in the safe.
Ocean Dancer Posted January 3, 2017 #9 Share Posted January 3, 2017 Do the NOS. The ABC Islands are awesome and a bit safer (Dutch) Have a great cruise :)

jmf123 Posted January 3, 2017 #11 Share Posted January 3, 2017 Navigator- for a nice size ship for their first cruise, and we've really enjoyed both Aruba and Curacao. I would say that the Southern Caribbean wins hands down for most folks!
Mustang2015 Posted January 3, 2017 Author #12 Share Posted January 3, 2017 Thanks for the great suggestions, we are most likely going to book the southern caribbean cruise. Husband agrees:D too. I want to do a western caribbean cruise someday with stops in Jamaica Grand Cayman Belize ect.

drrich2 Posted January 4, 2017 #22 Share Posted January 4, 2017 I'd lean toward Navigator, too; Voyager class are still huge ships, albeit without Central Park, Aqua Theater or the Boardwalk. As for this: The mega ship oasis is a selling point however husband told me he will not get off the ship as 8 years ago his wallet was stolen there. That can happen on any island. Or back home. If his wallet were stolen in your hometown, would you move? Yes, it bites, and I imagine I'd bear lasting ill will about it, too, but writing off an island for something that could've happened at home...kind of brings to mind the old cliche about cutting your nose off to spite your face. Who are you sticking it to? If the answer is yourself, no point. Richard.
