anybody hung a hammock on their balcony?

we have a cruise on Allure and i've got the urge to hang a hammock. Has anyone ever done this? If yes do you have pictures? How did you attach to supports?

Not on Allure, but we hung one on Oasis a few months ago.

Hung it just like the other person did in the pictures above.

We've done this at least half a dozen times and no one has said a thing. On one cruise. Our cabin steward was showing it to another steward from down the hall. They seemed impressed.

Here's a picture from the Freedom. On other classes it's not as easy to tie off the hammock as it is on Oasis class. Note the "C" clamp that I attached to the steel beam so that I could use that to tie off the hammock.

A few weeks ago on Liberty. 😊 I tried to get a lounger, but they wouldn't get one for me, so this was my back up. I took C clamps, but would up not really needing them as clamps.

Mine are - the problem is they're also old enough to drink theirs and not come back with mine....;)

To those who successfully hung hammocks on the balconies: what size hammocks are you using? I am going to order a hammock on amazon. There's a single person that is 108 inches in length or a double that's 118 inches in length. I would love the double but ultimately I want to hang with comfort and not become a sandwich

 

Would either of these lengths work comfortably?

If someone could post some pics of their mounting/attaching method it would be greatly appreciated. I have seen mention of C-clamps but any other methods would be awesome. I have to admit, I can be creative sometimes but this is truly awesome.

this one with the "looped" straps worked perfectly -- very simple to hang it between the balcony rail post and divider.

(of course the extra width of the suite balcony was helpful)
