Boytjie Posted February 25, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 25, 2017 It is another very busy day with eight cruise ships in port today. The Nieuw Amsterdam will be at Pier 4 (starboard alongside) - a pier not often used by HAL. She is scheduled to depart at 16:00/4:00 PM ET - subject to change as always. Rare rafinmd Posted February 25, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 25, 2017 Dare I say this. The Koningsdam will be the only ship in Aruba and due to sail the same time as the Nieuw Amsterdam (5PM ATLANTIC) time, but will probably be closer to schedule than the NA. I plan to be on deck this time I have the towel, lido deck aft starboard corner. http://portarubawebcam.com Roy

Krazy Kruizers Posted February 25, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 25, 2017 In 2013 we were on the Westerdam and sailed from pier 4. I don't remember how many ships were in that day.
Rare Scrapnana Posted February 26, 2017 #6 Share Posted February 26, 2017 Glad I am not going to be at the FLL airport tomorrow morning! Five of the ships are scheduled for 1600. We all know that is not going to happen. We will be looking for you and your towel , Roy!

65 Gator Posted February 26, 2017 #12 Share Posted February 26, 2017 So unusual to see the Nieuw Amsterdam pulling into Pier 4...
Happily@Sea Posted February 26, 2017 #13 Share Posted February 26, 2017 (edited) I'm glad they have the SW camera pointed at the port this am instead of the marina. NA looks regal amongst all those 'pale' ships. So in the middle of berthing they switched to the marina view - oh well! Happily@Sea Posted February 26, 2017 #14 Share Posted February 26, 2017 So unusual to see the Nieuw Amsterdam pulling into Pier 4... We [NA] were there on Jan 29 of this year. I was on a collector, so I didn't have to get off.
Happily@Sea Posted February 26, 2017 #15 Share Posted February 26, 2017 Pearl Mist looks like someone's toy model of a cruise ship. Especially sitting so close to Allure.
summer slope Posted February 26, 2017 #16 Share Posted February 26, 2017 I'll be here....8 ships WOW
Happily@Sea Posted February 26, 2017 #17 Share Posted February 26, 2017 (edited) Pearl Mist is moving up to sit in front of Regal Princess. I wouldn't want to sit behind one of the Behemoths of the Seas - afraid they would be backing out and never see me. :D I guess the proper term would be astern - otherwise she would be sitting behind NA and in the way of two ships. :D Edited February 26, 2017 by Happily@Sea
summer slope Posted February 26, 2017 #18 Share Posted February 26, 2017 I can't image what a nightmare it is to have that many ships disembarking and embarking again. What a traffic jam.

We had 7 on Sunday Feb 19th, it was a nightmare with one less than today's line-up.
Rare kazu Posted February 26, 2017 #20 Share Posted February 26, 2017 Thanks for the reminder Peter. Roy, enjoy your sail a way. With the ship starboard, wondering if people on board will need to move to starboard side for the wave or will the ship adjust before she heads out??? Rare Copper10-8 Posted February 26, 2017 #23 Share Posted February 26, 2017 ..............................With the ship starboard, wondering if people on board will need to move to starboard side for the wave or will the ship adjust before she heads out??? Nope; Capt. Robert Jan Kan will move her astern to clear her berth, then swing her around and perform a 180 in the turning basin, to line her up for the entrance channel, followed by a "normal" departure
Happily@Sea Posted February 26, 2017 #24 Share Posted February 26, 2017 Costa Deliziosa; the odd duck out in the famliar group today I wonder why they put her in #21, with her normal late leaving time? It seems that #19 would be better. Now Conquest either has to wait for Allure or try to maneuver between the two.
