Everything.. Norwegian BLISS! - launch April 2018 -

Recommended Posts

The June 2 2018 Inaugural to Alaska from Seattle. Cruise Critic has not added the Bliss yet.

The thread is started including the meet and greet and events. I have heard Starbucks will have a featured venue on board, it 'leaked' out the other day.

There also may be events around the inaugural making it a little extra special.

What surprises (and disappoints me) most is a Cuban based musical. Such very small country whose history is "rich" with political corruption, repression of its people and total disregard for human rights.

Very disappointed in the entertainment that was announced. Its average at best. NCL used to have 2 or 3 major acts for their new ships. The ship is very nice but I don't think the entertainment is going to woo many people.

I agree Beau was great in the District. Unfortunately, it wasn't the case a few months ago. The singer in there was awful. I didn't think the singers in the other venues were good either; just the opposite of my first Escape cruise.

It wasn't just my opinion......many on the ship and some CC posts voiced similar opinions. I was glad they had Howl as an option.

Regarding those complaining about the lack of Howl at The Moon... Google it. It's in tons of cities around the country. Go there. Besides, at least on Escape, the piano bar player on The District was actually more fun and less predictable. We had Beau on one cruise and Tom on another, and rarely spent time in HATM because the humor and talent in the other piano bar was much more fun.

A little judgmental in my opinion. Might be the best show you see. 😁

I am just giving my thoughts about it. It may be turn out to be a great, popular show. It just doesn't seem to me that it would appeal to a broad base so, yes, I'm questioning NCL's judgement.:D

(Off topic...I see you're from Henderson. I was at Sunset/Food Fest there Sunday)

Hope you had a good time. Henderson is a great place to live, far enough from the strip and close enough to some nice casino's and restaurants.

People on vacation shouldn't care about politics. Look at how popular Flamingo Grill (Cuban) was :D

YEY finally found this thread. Sailing June 16th 2018 aft balcony. Have two cruises prior to this one but still will be our first time sailing outside of Florida. Looking forward to our first time in Seattle too. I booked the night before it was officially released for booking and the price has just gone up since.

I read the postings on the race track extended outside the ship and don't believe this is true. Here is why. Ships that go thru the panama canal cannot have anything extending outside the ship. The Disney Wonder is the only ship on the Disney fleet with no slide like the Magic, Dream and Fantasy since it travels thru the panama canal ( like it recently did). I would discard that rumor.

Looking forward to all the updates !

It depends on how "cantilevered" the track would be. Bliss will have cantilevered hot tubs just like Escape but none of those hot tubs extends past the Waterfront nor the M6 balconies.

Perhaps, FDR will choose his words a little more carefully in the future.....

The Escape does not do Panama Canal cruises. So that thought might be out :(

The renderings show the hot tubs on Bliss are just like on Escape. Neither ship has the hot tubs actually extending past the ship.

IF the Bliss hot tubs are changed, I would agree that the cart track probably won't happen....at least not happen in the way that FDR stated a few months back.

Yeah I'm in a solo and they DID sell out fast. I was glad I booked the very first day. Some friends were laughing at me for booking back in January. Glad I didn't listen to them! [emoji3]

I promise, we'll keep the ship in good shape for your Alaskan cruise. [emoji6] We won't break anything.

I do have a studio, yes. I've had studios on the Escape and the Epic, and I'm looking forward to trying out the ones on the Bliss. Since I booked the very first day the Bliss opened for sales, the whole thing was VERY reasonable. I probably won't go back on her until 2020 to do Alaska! [emoji846] I'll probably run into your group members at some point on the roll call (if I haven't already).
