My new favourite thread. I am so happy we splurged for a balcony for our upcoming first cruise.

I've seen several pics of other ships. How common is it to see other ships out in the middle of the ocean? I leave on my first cruise in 2 weeks.

It depends on how close to port you are.

Shoof, I never would have guessed the origin of your picture. When was it taken- we cruise in 3 weeks from NYC- hope we don't see any ice chunks in the water!

Both of these are from my 11th floor balcony on Harmony Transatlantic. A beautiful sunset and The second one shows Oasis and Allure next to Harmony the day the three sisters met at sea. I'm on my port side balcony.

9/11/2001 was a day in our history that was as atrocious as 12/07/1941. It is so sad so many innocent people lost their lives that day. We, as a planet, need to be able to accept each other as humans, and not let culture drive hate. Sorry if I am going down a different channel with this reply.

 

Anyhow, its great to see all these photos from a place where many nationalities and cultures work together to give people a great vacation. Maybe everyone should work on a cruise to get to know that we are all humans.

Heading into the first lock on the old Panama Canal, the ship behind us crushed the mule after losing the tie lines on other side. No one was hurt to our knowledge.
