Yes, the only thing you CANNOT use your OBC for (if it is non-refundable) is a purchase of a future cruise or trying to cash it out at the casino or Guest Services. You can use it for anything else. Gratuities, specialty restaurants, drinks, bottles of wine, purchases in the on board shops, movies on your TV, Bingo cards, spa services, shore excursions, photographs...

Yes you can use OBC in the casino. They do not charge a fee for this.

For gaming tables they give you promotional chips. Winnings are given in regular chips which can be cashed in. You must lose all your promo chips because they cannot be cashed in.

On the slots, you play your promo credits until they're all gone. The winning credits can be cashed out. The promo credits, if any remain, are forfeited at the end of the cruise.

Question, and I am sure it has been addressed somewhere, but this looks like a good place.....I think that I read somewhere someone said that gratuities would automatically be swallowed up out of your OBC. We have $500, and I would like to surprise Mrs. Good-Kid once we board that she gets to blow $250 how ever she'd like (spa). Can't I just have gratuities added to my card and pay at the end?? I know it's the same. Money is money, but it would be fun, even if just for 7 days, that we're playing for "free".

Keep the seas calm, and the ships sailing,

Andy

I'm not sure if I'm answering you correctly, but here goes: Your OBC will already be on your SeaPass card when you get on the ship(all of that will be put on when you check in at the port), so there's nothing to add, as this will be your room key card and "cash card" while on board for your cruise. You'll be able to check your balance in your room on your TV(new purchases appear not long after they're complete), and the gratuities are added daily, and your remaining balance(or balance due)will be there for you to keep tabs on. Any balance due at the end of your cruise(either the evening of your last sea day, or embarkation day)will be automatically charged to whatever credit card number you authorized for that use(or a bill with the balance due will be in an envelope on your door and you need to take care of settling at Guest Relations on the last sea day). If you took the perk of paid gratuities if you chose the Go Better or Go Best package, you'll have your entire $500 of OBC to spend without worrying about grats being deducted.

How do you get the Promo Credits?

Turned my promo chips (from the Casino that I got using OBC) into CASH every night.

Please explain! Exactly what did you do? This is not Celebrity's policy. We would have loved turning our 700+ Celebrity OBC into cash.

By the way we were in the same cruise.

I got the promo chips for table games at the cashier. I didn't do the promo credits but I would presume you go to the cashier and they transfer the OBN to slot credits on your sea card based upon the amount you request.

You can just tell her to spend $250 and it will be deducted from your account.

If you've already spent the OBC, then it will be added as a debit and charged at the end of the cruise to your credit card on file. If you want to, I believe you can also prepay your gratuities on your credit card before you sail.

The end result is the same both ways so I don't see the reason to prepay.

Does anyone know if he can go to the spa and buy passes for her at embarkation that he can give to her? That would deduct from the account before the gratuities post.
