spammie Posted May 3, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 3, 2017 Hi. We will be cruising Friday on Equinox - woo hoo! We have sailed on this ship quite a few times. Our last cruise in November was the first time where the ship was very cold at night. Just wondering if recent female cruisers (since we tend to be chillier) on this ship noticed if it was cold at night. I'm finishing up packing and most of my nighttime outfits and they are all sleeveless. Just wondering if I should pack some items with sleeves in them. As much as I try I just can't pack light. LOL!
GordonJasmine Posted May 3, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 3, 2017 I''m also interested as we will be on the Equinox sailing also. Was it just inside the ship (AC) that it was cold?

champagne123 Posted May 3, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 3, 2017 Every cruise I have been on, have chillier venues than others. Learned the hard way on my first cruise and froze in the MTD. I ALWAYS take a sweater on every cruise now and have used it every single time. Therefore, worth the extra space in my luggage. Please come back and let us know how the cruise is. I will be on this ship soon!!!! HAVE A GREAT TIME.
bobndee Posted May 3, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 3, 2017 My wife is easily chilled in air conditioned spaces. So, instead of worrying about sleeves or not, she just packs a nice Pashmina shawl. It goes with everything and takes up little space.
ginger123snaps Posted May 3, 2017 #6 Share Posted May 3, 2017 I'm cold on every cruise we go on....particularly in the evenings. It doesn't matter if we are sailing in the middle of the summer or winter...its cold inside! BRRRRRRR
casper106 Posted May 3, 2017 #7 Share Posted May 3, 2017 As others have stated,I always find the public areas to be too cold. I always carry something with me.
misha1 Posted May 3, 2017 #8 Share Posted May 3, 2017 I am opposite, I carry a hand held fan, and plan my wardrobe to avoid sleeves or cover ups...I have been known to freeze my hands on the Martini bar in an effort to cool off. One can only take so many clothes off and remain socially appropriate Sent from my XT1585 using Forums mobile app
JaniceB Posted May 3, 2017 #9 Share Posted May 3, 2017 Will packing a shrug/sweater for sure.
Blue_Flame Posted May 3, 2017 #10 Share Posted May 3, 2017 I just got off Equinox last week and yes, I recommend a sweater, shawl, wrap of some kind. I had all sleeveless outfits (I am the one always hot), and during last minute packing I threw in a short, black sweater. I ended up wearing it every night in the lounges, theater, Blu. jelayne Posted May 3, 2017 #11 Share Posted May 3, 2017 On the Equinox now and have not found it to be cool in the public areas. On the contrary other than the Theater last night & Blu 2 nights ago which were quite warm, everywhere else has been comfortable without a sweater or wrap. Silvery Seas Cruiser Posted May 3, 2017 #15 Share Posted May 3, 2017 Was on the April 3 sailing of Equinox. Yes, it was chilly at night in the theater and some lounges. I brought a couple of different sweaters with me to use at night, but then I do on every ship when we cruise. Also I recognize that "chilly" is very subjective. One person's chilly is another person's balmy climate, so it is hard to know what someone will feel. That said, I do recommend anyone concerned about how cold it is pack a shrug, shawl or cardigan. They don't weigh a lot or take up a lot of room, so why not have a wrap handy just in case?
cb at sea Posted May 3, 2017 #16 Share Posted May 3, 2017 I always bring some sort of "coverup" but have never needed it. Bring one thing that will "go" with everything. No one really cares if it 'matches"....you will likely not need it, but it's good to have something, just in case!
azle Posted May 4, 2017 #17 Share Posted May 4, 2017 We just returned from the Equinox April 24. I found the ship quite cool most of the time. Sometimes it was very cold, especially in the evening. The hallways are cold. I always wore something with sleeves and at night brought along a shawl just in case. The weather was not very good so that may have had something to do with the temperature. I've found that the temperatures are warmer inside if the seas are calm and sun is shining. Take one thing to cover up just in case.:)
Rare chemmo Posted May 4, 2017 #18 Share Posted May 4, 2017 Presently on the Eclipse in Norway. Red hot in the sun, freezing as you go in the shade! Never seen so much putting on and taking off layers. We have cruised Equinox twice, we didn't find it any different that other ships for having hotter and cooler spaces. I always travel with a light 'jersey' fabric black jacket...
Rala Posted May 4, 2017 #19 Share Posted May 4, 2017 I always bring some sort of sweater or shawl(pashmina-type wrap) and almost without exception have used it on every cruise especially at night. I find some areas on the ship can be chilly even during the day. Enjoy your cruise! :)
