Questions Regarding MSC Seaside

also are there cheerioes?

can you bring your own water on board?

After I googled what "cheerioes" is, unfortunately I have to say no. Actually I am quite sure, nobody from MSC has ever heard of this product. There will also be no "Marmite" on board ;)

Water officially no, but nobody cares about small amounts. But maybe harbour checks in the US are more strict.

I have yet to see any size requirements for the F1 car.

Bowling is $25 for a half hour, $45 for an hour, and $2 per person for shoe rentals.

The 10 different 10 minute 5D interactive movies are $10 for adults and $8 for kids. Not the F1 car but the pricing will be similar for it if not the same.

There's a sort of a fun pass offered where you spend $25 and get $30 and I think it said $75 or $80 gets you $100.

Is the bowling rate per person or for the lane?

Thanks.

was wondering about the sports bar:

does anyone have a menu and is there a charge.

We loved the sports bar on MSC Divina and hoping its the same.

can't wait to sail on Seaside...

This has already been covered. It's not the same as Divina. They charge for wings.

The Divina Sports Bar also had a much more extensive menu. Of course it was far from gourmet , mostly burgers , sandwiches and appetizer type stuff , but it was nice to have another venue for a quick snack. And the fact that it was included in the regular cruise fare didn't hurt either ! !

Hopefully MSC will change their policy and include the Sports Bar offerings free of charge . We loved spending a few hours there .

Yes, "another venue for a quick snack" seems to be lacking on Seaside.

Oops:o......sorry! thanks Mr.Bill99. Hopefully, it is the same on Seaside.....one can hope!!!
You can hope, but current reports are that it's not. I'm disappointed, but no way am I going to pay for wings, even though the options for free casual dining seem to be very limited.

But the wing prices seem like a bargain compared to paying 29.00 for a half hour of bowling for two people or 10.00 for 15 minutes of pool table time.

HIGHLIGHTED QUESTIONS THAT STILL NEED ANSWERS:

1. When is the Cruise Critic Meet and Mingle being scheduled?

2. Anyone done any of the arts and crafts in the Ipanema restaurant able to report back on what's on offer? Or was that only on the TA?

I was told by a friend on the ship until today they had seen some sort of decopodge type activities on wooden trays, a clock in a plate type thing, and some sort of sewing or ironing on bags project he thought.

3. Are the doors and walls metal for magnet usage in all cabins?

Lots of variation reported here. Some have said doors metal on inside only no decoration on outside permitted but then many report decorating their outside cabin doors. Some have said only doors are metal not walls but then many others have said yes walls are metal. From watching videos and looking at pictures my best guess is the walls are metal but may be so covered by wood and other decor as to be unusable with magnets. The insides and oceanviews look to even have metal ceilings lower in the ship.

4. What is stocked in the minibar?

is video of the minibar in a Seaside Balcony and here is a price sheet for the Seaside minibar provided by seaweeyin.

565076968d98e44b2d98eece5eb45b95.jpg

There is

of what is stocked in minibars in the YC on Preziosa.

5. What about the private elevator access to the spa from the YC which has been advertised extensively? I've read it isn't available on the Seaside.

Post #236 of this thread reports no there is not one on Seaside.

6. Any information about getting fresh flowers in your room? Several have been interested.

7. What about the movies in the cabins and on movie nights?

There are movies on demand for $8 in the rooms and they are numerous. Big screen movies have been mostly holiday fare with a few newer movies thrown in so far. They're shown at 8:30 and 11 pm at the Miami Beach pool in the rear.

8. Can we get a schedule for the younger kids care program from one of the Caribbean sailings?

Thanks Seaweeyin!

Kids Club and Activities Informative Videos:

The MSC employee giving the tour states there is no extra charge for anything in the kid's club which will be great news for parents. MSC has also posted up an advertising video about the kid's club and children's water are
.

is a video of the water park in actual use.

I've seen some asking what special events they had for kids over the Christmas cruise because they might like to book for next year.

Looks like just a picture opportunity and a lovely gift for the kids.

Also please be aware they are requiring closed toed shoes for the younger kids club.

9. Are they doing the "Happy Dinner" program where they pick up kids when they've finished their meal in the main dining room with their parents and let the parents finish up while the kids go play in the Kid's Club?

Went through all the reviews I could find posted here and elsewhere. Like a lot of things the "Happy Dinner" program has had some growing pains. Apparently it is possible to drop off kids to eat at the upstairs buffet with the Kid's Club in a roped off section and let them stay until the Kid's Club closes that night. They are trying to do the Happy Dinner program which usually consists of kids eating their entree while parents eat appetizers then join the Kid's Club in the buffet for dessert. Unfortunately due to slow service most are reporting kids not even receiving their entree before the Kid's Club designated pick up appears as well as more than one reporting on other nights they joined the Kid's Club in the buffet after finishing their entree and had to sit and watch the group eating with the Kid's Club eat their meals because they'd got a late start. I'm sure this is just part of the difficulty of re-establishing on a new ship and will improve.

11. Can the TV's in the rooms be moved, extended, or swiveled for ease of watching throughout the room?

The TVs swivel only.

12. What is the table minimum in the Casino? Is it $5?

Detailed video of the Casino

. According to this review from kapadalik: "Husband played Ultimate Texas Hold Em and did well. He also played Black Jack. He took advantageof the Happy Hour special they offered. On Sea Days from 11a-1pm, it was halfprice bets on Texas Hold Em and Black Jack. I played Video Poker andslots. One review I read somewhere stated tables with $10 minimums except Happy Hour when it is $5.

13. Can excursions be booked from the in room TV?

MSC for me app reportedly works great for booking things. Conflicting reports as to whether it works without purchase of WiFi package so I don't know if this is an issue with certain phones or with certain people's abilities with their phones or what.

14. Dailies, Dailies, DAILIES, DAILIES? Can someone please post up the Dailies from their Caribbean cruise?

Separate thread posted here looking for menus and dailies already has a number of postings thanks to the generousity of Seaweeyin. Please be sure to thank Seaweeyin!

15. Any ideas on pool hours and if any hot tubs are 24 hours?

16. Weight restrictions on waterslides?age?height?

For Adventure Trail it is 32 inches minimum per Ashely @ CC. Other reports state minimum 75 pounds max 290 pounds for the slides but the only reliable report with pictures of the MSC Guidelines I have seen showed those as the weights for the zipline. The only other information I have re: size guide is they require 47 inches on Divina slides. Some reported the interactive slide was a fee but I have since read several reviews stating free but must sign waiver for it and all orther slides and zip lines.

17. Shuffleboard any where?

Excellent, detailed review of the 12/23-12/30 2017 Christmas Cruise here. Thank you, kpadalik for the review! Please note the report that traffic is an issue when there are many ships in port loading and unloading. Be aware looking at the Crew Center schedule for the Miami Cruise Port it looks like there will be seven ships in port every time MSC Seaside docks there for at least most of 2018.

Breakfast in the Buffet:

is a video of breakfast in the buffet. Love the hand washing sinks. Guy isn't really the best camera man probably because he's having to keep track of a couple of active kids while recording, but still interesting. I appreciate that he tried.

Found another Seaside breakfast buffet video for the Marketplace Buffet

. He gives descriptions of many of the offerings which is wonderfully helpful.

Looks like lots of choices and those jam dispensers look like a wonderful idea.

is video from the same guy for the Deck 16 buffet at I think lunch. I'm hungry just watching! He also did
. Has anyone got prices for the boxed chocolates or the by the each chocolate bar? That penguin is hilariously adorable.

Can anyone clarify what snacks and food are included at no additional charge? I know all meals and room service are included but I was wondering more about treats and snacks throughout the day. Thanks!

If you look in the dailies that were posted earlier, you can see the dining choices and hours.

Everything I've read indicates that only the MDR and buffets are free, with the Marketplace buffet on deck 8 being closed for dinner (used for MDR overflow) and later. As of this past cruise, the Biscayne Bay buffet on deck 16 was the only evening buffet choice and it's much smaller with a lesser selection (and supposedly not very good). We'll see if that changes on today's cruise since there will be less kids on board because the holidays are over.

And nachos at the sports bar.

Please add to the list of things we need a comprehensive report of what is available at the dinner buffet, wherever it may be (photos would be nice).

Thanks! We sailed with RCI last year and really enjoyed being able to stop at the coffee & pizza shop to get a snack throughout the day. Hopefully MSC will change their policies so we can enjoy some of the other foods the boat has to offer (my kids are specifically wanting the gelato! [emoji6])

1. All food in the two buffets and the main dining rooms is included no extra charge.

2. Room service may charge a delivery fee depending on factors like whether you are Aurea, Bella, Fantastica, or Wellness and also depending on time of day. If you are Yacht Club or have the Deluxe all-inclusive package room service is no extra charge at all. If you have the classic all-inclusive drink package there is no room service delivery fee. Some items on the room service and breakfast service in cabin menus do incur a charge. I've linked to pictures of these menus below for your review.

Room Service and Breakfast Service menus:

Room Service #1

Room Service #2

Room Service #3

Room Service #4

Room Service #5

Breakfast Service #1

Breakfast Service #2

Breakfast Service #3

Breakfast Service #4

Breakfast Service #5

3. The wings in the Sports Bar incur charges. Sometimes I see people saying they also have nachos at no charge but I have yet to see a picture of either the nachos or a menu stating they are available at no extra charge. I did see one review that said you had to get a drink in the Sports Bar to get the nachos.

4. There is an extra charge for food in any of the four special restaurants which includes a steakhouse, seafood, tepanyaki, sushi, and a french style bistro along the concourse above the Atrium Bar, as well as in Venchi chocolates and gelato locations.

UNLESS YOU BOOKED CERTAIN PACKAGES or ARE BLACK LEVEL.

If you have status matched or earned your way to black you get 1 free specialty dining meal for lunch or dinner at the location of your choice. Book as soon as you board because they fill up fast.

If you have the all-inclusive drink plans certain gelato and possibly even some chocolate options are no extra charge. Reports I've read you get a cup or cone of gelato with the classic all-inclusive and with the Deluxe all-inclusive you have more options such as chocolate-covered gelato bars and possibly something at Venchi chocolate bar. If you have the paper drink vouchers included with your Fantasia cabin I have seen several reviews which said they can be utilized for gelato and shakes.

Yacht Club can pretty nearly drink and eat anything anywhere on the ship at no extra charge.
