skynight Posted December 25, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 25, 2017 We will be on the Crown Princess on Super Bowl Sunday. Anything special going on for the game that day? We have been on board a few times during the Super Bowl. The game is shown on MUTS, but the good seating fills early. The game was also shown in Club Fusion, and maybe in the casino. It was not on cabin TV. There was always some special activities with the game, but nothing much.

nukesubsailor Posted December 25, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 25, 2017 We boarded the Regal Princess on Super Bowl Sunday last February. By 1:00 pm every seat with a view of the big MUTS screen was taken. We had to watch on a small TV screen in the Club Six lounge. It is really a shame the game is not shown on the cabin TV but I understand that Princess would rather have people watching at venues where drinks are sold. Micahs Grandad Posted December 26, 2017 #5 Share Posted December 26, 2017 Surprised they do not show it in the main lounges.
paul929207 Posted December 26, 2017 #6 Share Posted December 26, 2017 On the Island Princess earlier this year, the game was on MUTS, in the casino and in the Explorer's Lounge.
casofilia Posted December 26, 2017 #7 Share Posted December 26, 2017 "Super Bowl On Board" I was wondering where they would fit all the spectators!!
satxdiver Posted December 26, 2017 #8 Share Posted December 26, 2017 Princess has to pay a royalty for every screen they use to show the superbowl which eliminates watching it in your cabin. This telecast is not free. We were on the Island a few years ago during Superbowl Sunday. They showed the game on MUTS and in the theater as I remember. It was in the southern Caribbean so it was rather warm out. They set up a bunch of tables with munchies of all kinds including wings, nachos, chips etc for everyone on the lido deck watching the game. Of course they had the usual beer specials but not sure they had any special prices for the game. If you are aboard a ship and watching the superbowl be aware that this is the national feed where there will be blank spots during the commercials. This is where local stations get to add the local commercials. All you will see is the game and national commercials which are the most interesting. National corporations like Pepsi, Coca Cola etc have special commercials made just for superbowl and you will see them. It was a fun time with a lot of whooping and hollering. A function not to be missed even if you would not watch it at home.
elliair Posted December 26, 2017 #9 Share Posted December 26, 2017 We will be on the Crown Princess on Super Bowl Sunday. Anything special going on for the game that day? They usually have a big spread of football tailgate type food, usual waiters taking beer and drink orders. Waiters bringing around bags of popcorn. We'll probably go just for the food and not watch the game, we're boycotting NFL football.

Lucky TGO Posted December 26, 2017 #12 Share Posted December 26, 2017 Watching the Super Bowl on MUTS is almost as good as being at the game. You do have to get there early. Some people were there at 6:00 a.m. and stayed all day to save a good seat. I like to say hi to my good friend Lew we watched our Patriots win the Super Bowl on the Royal Princess. Go Patriots!!!!! Tony

san diego sue Posted December 26, 2017 #14 Share Posted December 26, 2017 We were on the Regal last superbowl. Besides Muts, it was shown in Vista Lounge. Princess had a buffet set up with all the foods you would expect at a football game. (Hot dogs, chips with cheese, etc). Felt like we were at a big superbowl party at home. Plenty of seats. Year before we were on the Ruby and had the same. The Ruby had it shown on Muts,Club Fusion, and Explorers. It was a four day cruise and these venues were jam packed with partying people. ROXIETHEHORSE Posted December 27, 2017 Author #16 Share Posted December 27, 2017 I'm pulling for the Vikings...Keenum went to my husband's college, U of H. Giants and Texans are both dumpster fires this year. I'm still gonna wear my Simms jersey.

Go Patriots!!!!! Tony Not so fast fellows. The Steelers are not finished with the Patriots. And it looks like the Ravens may be coming to town and there is a little history there of upset against the Pats. So, we can count on a Super Bowl extravaganza on Island Princess when we are on the way to Brazil in a few weeks, but there is no guarantee as to which teams will be playing. I will of course be packing a Steelers jersey, hat and at least one of my Terrible Towels. Well, they will be somewhere accessible in the packing as we will know the conference final results a couple of days before we leave for FLL. (On second thought, why not bring the jersey anyway? I think it would be fun to see a colorful collage of everyone's favorite team at the game instead of just fans of the two teams playing).

They just don't seem to be in step with America anymore, and are increasingly out of touch in general.. I'll probably check out the party for the game, though. I'll be onboard the Diamond in the South Pacific, so it'll probably be early morning there.
