JuliaMS Posted January 24, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2018 What are some of the adult beverages we should try out? I always feel like there are some drinks at the pool we don't know exist. Or some specialty cocktail that is only in one bar that we didn't know to go looking for. Cheers!

cb at sea Posted January 24, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 24, 2018 Ask the bartender for recommendations, if you don't have a "favorite". I know what I like, so I stick to it, for the most part!
Rare maysill88 Posted January 24, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 24, 2018 I enjoyed the "Red Velvet Cake" at the R-Bar on the Grandeur. It wasn't too sweet and had a nice taste of chocolate. (Limoncello, Creme de cacao dark, Creme de cacao white and strawberry puree)
cruiseguy1016 Posted January 24, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 24, 2018 A sure way to try different drinks is to always get the drink of the day. It changes every day so you will be able to try several different drinks during your cruise. Another method to learn which drinks are good is to sit at the bar. Ask your bartender what he/she would recommend. While you're sitting at the bar, watch what other people are ordering. If something looks good, ask the bartender what it is. If it sounds good, try one! My favorite drink on board is a Bahama Mamma. This is my first drink on every (Caribbean) cruise. This drink always puts me in "cruise mode", laid back and ready to relax for the week.
dreadpirate3 Posted January 24, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 24, 2018 BBC (Bailey's Banana Collada) and caipirinha are my two new favorites from our sailing in December.
zdad59 Posted January 24, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 24, 2018 Frozen Blue Hawaiian or Miami Vice. I am not much of a frozen drink guy, but when by the pool, that's the way to go. SO these are my go to drinks in the Solarium. Just don't drink too fast, you'll get brain freeze.

champagne123 Posted January 24, 2018 #10 Share Posted January 24, 2018 Not really a cocktail, but after dinner...instead of coffee, I sometimes get a "Nutty Irish Coffee" (Frangelica, Baily's and coffee...topped with whipped cream).
Rare kernow Posted January 24, 2018 #11 Share Posted January 24, 2018 I don't like frozen drinks so my favourite pool drink is a Goombay Smash, can't remember exactly what it contains but it's rum based and fruity.

MaryCS62 Posted January 24, 2018 #16 Share Posted January 24, 2018 Somebody posted a copy of the drinks allowed by the Ultimate Beverage Package -- I plan on looking them up & putting little stars next to the ones I want to try. :). My DH, on the other hand, plans to have a drink at every bar on the ship...

cruiseguy1016 Posted January 24, 2018 #21 Share Posted January 24, 2018 Some of the bars will have menus listing various drinks. Browse through those to see if there is something that sounds tempting.
Newbieflorida Posted January 24, 2018 #22 Share Posted January 24, 2018 Had Ultimate Drink Pkg on Allure in May. My absolute 2 faves: In English Pub, a Cherry Orchard (it had hard cider in it). From the Champagne Bar: a Key Lime Pie Martini. Delish!!
RadioPeri Posted January 24, 2018 #23 Share Posted January 24, 2018 Wonder if they'll make me a Russian Colada.... Kahula and Vodka instead of Rum...:D:D Not quite sure whether you're joking about the name, but the bartenders will make you pretty much anything you want (within reason). They may not know what a "Russian Colada" is, but would certainly be able to make you a Black Russian. If by chance a bartender doesn't know the recipe for a cocktail you'd like, just let them know what's in it, and they'll do their absolute best to accommodate. dreadpirate3 Posted January 24, 2018 #25 Share Posted January 24, 2018 I'm shocked (and pleased) to hear they stock cachaça on-ship. :) The Freedom Plaza Bar had it, but I'm not sure the smaller bars would.
