***HAL's website - what a mess!

The buck for HAL stops at Ashford's desk. Period. He is still there. And this website is a mess. At a minimum he can send out courtesy notices but he has failed to protect his customer base. He needs to care more about his own business reputation, rather than claim it was someone else's fault. Sorry, but Ashford is a management fail if he passively lets his customers- past, present and future - continue to get abused by this website. Who got blamed for New Coke? The one at the top.

Orlando dislikes his customer base. His preferred base is Oprah-loving drunks. Those drink packages at over $50 per day are a big money maker for HAL. Sure, it ruins the experience for the rest of us, but he doesn't care.

You are right, he IS a management fail.

I tested that link before I posted it, and I can assure you it takes you to the older site (notice "legacy" in the URL?)

I think the url only goes to the legacy site if you have cleared the HAL cookies.
It takes me to the new website even after clearing cookies. I have to use the /?ASCookie=RSOrigin to get the old site. Edited by catl331

I just tried it and both the link I provided and the "normal" one take me to the OLD website. Perhaps some of you have not experienced the new site, but you would remember it if you had.

Here's an expert demo of the new website.

Sorry, but it takes ME to the new website. I know the difference. Maybe it's you that has something set that makes it act different. :p BTW the link above just shows me four images, and is not a "demo" of anything.

Click on the left one.

I'm using my Windows laptop, if you are using MAC, Android, or Linux, your results may differ.

HAL has finally fixed the Mariners’ Status. Before there was nothing listed. On there is a listing of the cruises, the days cruised, the cruise credit days and a total of each. Maybe they will get the mess fixed finally. Still don’t like the new site as it isn’t user friendly. When you look at Mariner Society. There is no link to your status. You have to get there through Your Account.

Thank you so much!!! I can finally get in using this link!!

This link brings me to the new site. After several days of successfully negotiating workarounds to the old site, this afternoon nothing works. AARRGGHH...

After being able to access the old website yesterday, today all links take me to new website. While I haven't explored to any depth this evening, My Details, My Bookings and My Mariner Status are all there and appear to be accurate. It also recognizes my location, providing pricing in CAD.

I agree the Mariner details were easy to find today on the new website. The itinerary for my booked cruise is impossible to see. I just want a list of ports, arrival and departure time, and whether or not it is a tender port. I can't be that hard. I don't want all these pictures of day by day excursions available.

I can do that with the website right now. After you've logged in, go to My Bookings ---> Manage My Cruise ---> Itinerary & Wishlist (sic) ---> Itinerary. You should see the list you're after. Depending on the vagaries of the system, you may have to log in again after clicking on the Manage My Cruise link.

"Vagaries of the system": a perfect description of the website experience. Just because something appeared or worked a few minutes ago does not mean it will appear or work the next time.

I had sent a message to the Mariner Society asking why our cruising history was no longer on the website. Have just received a reply, with an apology and attached a copy of our cruising history to keep for our records.

It's good to see the details back on the website.

I just sent a not so happy feedback on the new website about the inability to get the most basic of details on an Alaska CruiseTour. I also just started a new thread here on the subject.

These folks need to get it together and QUICK or they will be bleeding massive amounts of business to their competitors due to their absolutely crap website!

I'm still looking at CruiseTour options from Princess and Celebrity as an alternate, but at the moment the financials are just SOOO favorable for the Amsterdam cruise vs a cruise and land tour with others due to my Casino discount with HAL. If any other mainstream line offered something comparable to my 14 day cruise I have booked on the Amsterdam for summer 2019 I would jump ship faster than you can say HAL-NO-YOU-BETTER-DON'T!!!!!!

I got the auto reply too, but I'm not expecting anything more anytime soon.
Well, I wasn't expecting to get any response quickly, but in just 2 days I got a nice reply from "Lori" that was NOT just a form letter, because she attached a pdf of my cruise history! I'm impressed!

It said that the missing info was now on the new site, and what is now there is almost correct except for a small arithmetic error. It shows that I have 7 less Bonus days than I actually do, but the total is correct anyway.

HAL continues to do a good job once you get on board. It is heart breaking the onboard HAL staff has to punished because of Seattle's mismanagement of this new website.

How does one book the pricing posted on the first page for a specific cruise?

Example:

First page says "from $2000" tax is 300 additional

Click on "View itinerary": price is $2450 Restricted + tax. Nothing about the original $2000 Alternative pricing for Ready Set Sail is much higher.

Click on "Book Now" at the $2450: price is 2900 +tax

So, how to find whatever category has the $2000 price as on the first page?

If you have to ask, you obviously don't qualify! :halo:

I could be that the "from" rate is on a different sailing date than the one you were looking at, or is a "Saver" fare that requires a non-refundable deposit and may have been selectable further into the booking process. With this new website mess, anyone guess is as good as any ......

Sounds about right! I'm now using a TA's website that is easy to use and has HAL's pricing with much more info.
