14 day Caribbean cruises??

Recommended Posts

Thanks so much for a direct answer to my question (y)(y)

Interesting that other cruise lines have trouble filling 14 day itineraries out of NY/NJ when NCL is able to pack them in without a problem. Probably the pricing isn't competitive or perhaps NCL's bidding process that moves guests willing to pay more for a discounted upgrade into a higher category cabin. NCL discounts usually only occur on the inside/oceanview cabin categories, not the higher priced cabins.

Probably same reason there are no Royal ships on the west coast other than Alaka voyages

If one wants to cruise on Oasis class ships, 7-day B2B is the only way. The ships switch between eastern and western itineraries so ports are not duplicated.

Sadly Royal's cruise search function doesn't facilitate finding suitable pairs as there is no option to sort by date. Unlike Princess, HAL, or NCL no B2B options are listed.

Plus the high cost of doing business out of California.

They filled the ships, but the profit was not as good as elsewhere.

NY seems like it would be pricey as well.

Don't know for sure, but maybe that's a factor in their decision to cruise out of beautiful gorgeous Bayonne instead of Manhattan.

I thought we had taken some two-week Caribbean cruises on Royal Caribbean. When I went back to check, it seems the longest single CARIBBEAN cruise we’ve taken with RCCL was 12 nights. We try to take a back 2 back on a RCCL Caribbean cruise to get 14 nights. We have had a few 14 night Caribbean cruises on Celebrity. Then, we’ve had a few 14 or 15 night cruises on Royal Caribbean, but none of those have been in the Caribbean.

LOL, you are probably right that I won't be able to try Royal for a while!

I'm a Southern/Eastern Caribbean itinerary fan!

.

We have done a few longer cruises on Holland America and although there were more older seasoned cruisers we enjoyed every aspect of those cruises on the NOORDAM, out of New York, just as much as any on Celebrity or Royal. The Vista Suites are fantastic.

They have a 14 day Summer CUBA Cruise, on the VEENDAM which we would jump on immediately, if it were not for the date of sailing (August 2019) that being a period where we don't sail the Caribbean as well as not being able to free up time except in Jan-Feb-Mar.

14 Day Summer Cuba Cruise, leaving from Boston then on to;

Key West Florida

Havana Cuba (Overnight- 7am to 2am)

Cienfuegos Cuba (8am to 5pm)

Georgetown Grand Cayman

Ocho Rios Jamaica

Half Moon Cay Private Island Bahamas

Then Back to Boston

I thought those were going away with Explorer.

Still available for September 2018 on the Explorer. Possibly the last year for RC on the West Coast.
