Good morning coolers.....Terry, I have multiple appts this week......mask wearing and trying to be as social distanced

as possible.     I have my first Kidney Ultra Sound on Tuesday morning (since my hospital stay).  Tomorrow I have

another Dr appt and  I also  have to go to Quest for 2 other lab tests........my follow up with the Kidney

Specialist with the Ultrasound results is week after next........that is why I am going for those labs......the Dr wants

to see multiple items.  Hoping it all comes out good.

Speaking of Drs...........haven't seen JP..........hope he and Chris are doing well.

And now, on top of Covid it is the middle of hurricane season.......looks like The Gulf is getting

2 with 48 hours of each other😲.........OMG........wishing those in their path my best wishes

and please stay safe!!!!!!!

Good luck to Lois with your upcoming medical appointments.  Am still awaiting word from my follow-up x-ray early last week as to my 10 mm kidney stone that is supposedly in a safe and stable position.  As friends expressed, this whole Covid-19 situation has slowed down many of the medical processes.  Fortunately, no kidney stone pain for me now.

YES, agree, that we have not (but need to be) hearing from J.P. and Chris.  Hope they are doing well.

Below is a CNN graphic about the positions and timing for the two storms/hurricanes preparing to hit parts of Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi from the Gulf of Mexico. It's definitely a challenging and unique situation.   Their story this am says: "Tropical Storm Marco strengthened significantly on Saturday and could hit Louisiana as a hurricane by Monday, according to the latest National Hurricane Center forecast.  Tropical Storm Laura is moving away from western Puerto Rico and is expected to move over the island of Hispaniola Saturday night into Sunday, according to the hurricane center's latest advisory."

THANKS!  Enjoy!  Terry in Ohio

Have a great safe day all!

Ugh frogs.

Or should I say BUFO TOADS.

They are competing with the feral cat and stealing the cat food.

Bufos are poisonous and ugly huge.

Not sure what I can do to keep them away. They have no natural enemy and are not native to Florida. I wish they would go take up space on a water lilly leaf.

Spins that is scary!  Can they not be poisoned without affecting the less nasty wildlife?

I think I am a little dense, but did you explain how our post numbers keep stopping and starting?

You are NOT dense Chas!  If you look at Cooler post numbers (the ones in the upper right of the post) #5697 to #5699 and also #5705 you might see how the numbering system works.  If there is still some head scratching I will attempt a different method of explanation.  Gladly!  🙂

To further illustrate.....the post I made above (#5762) shows my count of posts as being 5,601.

I left the CC site and returned.  If you now compare my post counts from #5762 and #5763  you will see that they are both at 5,602.

When I leave the CC site again #5762 and #5763 will both have my post counts as 5,603.

That is what I am talking about as well!  I guess my explanation is not clear.  Try this Chas....post something and note the count of your posts after you submit.  Then exit and return and see what what number of posts is showing on your most recent post.  It will be incremented by 1.

On this page the # has been 761 on at least 3 posts. (above)

All OK, Terry and Lois. We were away for the weekend, in Northeast Pennsylvania, chasing waterfalls.

We stayed in a small town named Dallas (yes, in PA) Friday to Sunday. Cell service was pretty sketchy and wifi not much better, but it was good to go out hiking like a somewhat normal person.

Friday we left Albany at Noon, stopped at Salt Springs State Park, The Archibald Pothole, and the Nay Aug Gorge before arriving at our hotel in Dallas for a late dinner. They had a beautiful dining setup on their patio and the food was scrumptious, but the portions were huge.

Saturday we drove to Ricketts Run State Park and hiked about 4 miles of their Falls Trail system, which was amazing. But crowded. Hard to maintain social distancing and many people were not wearing masks. We wore them when we got unavoidably close. After that slog we went back to the hotel and changed out of our drenched clothing, then hunted down two other waterfalls which were not too exciting, before going to Hickory Run State Park for a hike to Hawk Falls, and a drive to their "Boulder Field" which was pretty neat. Then dinner at a wine bar in Wilkes-Barre. We had some huge pieces of meat, well deserved after about 18000 steps hiking today.

Today we drove home via Stroudsburg, stopping for a few short hikes to waterfalls along the Slateford Creek, before braving the throngs at Bushkill Falls a little to the north of there. We did the longer loop to avoid some of the crowds, but again it was impossible to keep people out of your face. On the way home we stopped at the Mountain Brauhaus, a great German restaurant in Gardiner NY (an hour plus south of us) for takeout. We drove home very hungry, with the smell of Schnitzel and Zwiebelrostbraten teasing our hungry bellies.

Eight miles out of Albany there was a torrential downpour and traffic came to a halt. Luckily it was right at an exit, and we know the way home from there, so we exited and made it home without too much delay. Now relaxing with a glass or Riesling before work tomorrow.

Here are a few pics from today and from yesterday afternoon. Yesterday morning's hike was long and there are 20+ waterfalls to label. That may take a while.

I (Peter) remember Emil's Mountain Brauhaus from those (decades ago) times I climbed in the Gunks.
