Cruise without Christmas Music

We've mostly cruised on Windstar and they don't have any ambient music played. There is a duo (or sometimes two duos) that play in the evenings in a lounge or the on deck bar. We haven't cruised at Christmas time but I expect it would be the same then. The duo might play some Christmas music at that time of year, but it wouldn't be bombarding you everywhere on the ship.

I don't recall any ambient CD music being played on our one Crystal cruise in August, just live music, music in the shows, possibly there was recorded music in the night club venue - we didn't spend time there.

We took a 3 week cruise over Christmas one year on HAL. The only place I heard Christmas music was in the dining room. The first night,  around December 18th, they had the music CD playing. At one point, "I'll be Home for Christmas" started playing. Someone must have noticed pretty quickly that no one on the ship would be home for Christmas. You could almost hear the record scratches as "I'll be Home for Christmas" suddenly stopped and the next song started playing.

I just filled my car up with gas and there was Christmas music playing at the gas pump.  EM

Well it is less than three weeks, so I don’t think we can complain about that, it’s when they start play8ng it in October that bugs this little black duck

Non-Christian countries?  Not a chance.   I've heard people going to predominantly/majority non-Christian countries only to be confronted with X'ms decorations, music and all the commercialisation (e.g., Buddhist Thailand and Sri Lanka or Muslim Malaysia).

I wager a German (e.g., Aida) or Spanish (e.g., Pullmantur) would be the best bet.  Even Costa or MSC (if not sailing out of/into U.S. waters).  At least you won't understand the lyrics or maybe hear tunes you don't/won't normally (e.g., no Bing Crosby or who have you X'mas crooning or Jingle Bell Rock, or I saw Daddy Kissing Santa Claus).  My wife and I spent 5 months, including the Noël season in France and it was refreshing not to hear any of the usual.

There is no such thing as a Christian country anymore.

Certainly the focused Christian aspect of Christmas is fading - schools in the US have  winter  (rather than Christmas) vacations;  “season’s greetings” is heard more than “happy Christmas” - probably appropriate as most societies become more multi-cultural —— but for some reason commercial entities: shopping malls in particular, resorts and cruise ships still seem stuck on the “Christmas” theme — I guess they see too much revenue related to it to let it be.

Only one cruise during Christmas period. On Princess, don't recall ship wide music. We only recall they had altered a carol trying to be PC, "now we don our GRAY apparel".

surely you're joking?
