Well we live in southern CT and it’s not a fun drive for us to get to Cape Liberty.  😉We're happy to see a X ship sailing from Boston and hope they will continue to offer alternative port choices.

I’m with you on that one.  HAL, NCL and Royal have used Boston in the summer for years.

Found it! The ABC's - interesting.... all 5 of the aft AQs on 11 are available ....

Would you please send me the link?  I’m having a hard time with the internet feed, some things default to the UK website.  Thanks, Katie

Sorry OP.

Sorry OP.

Speaking of post-Revolution Summit, here are some early renditions of the Revolutionized Millie posted by AtlantaCruiser - I hadn't seen plans yet.

So the misinformation continues to be spouted out about the Edge.

There are actually NINE bars serving alcoholic drinks for non suite guests.

Martini bar

The Club

Casino bar

Eden

Magic Carpet

Resort bar

Sunset bar

Café a Bacio

Ocean View bar

I had the drinks package and it was used just as much as on my Reflection cruise earlier this year.

I would respectfully suggest you go back to your travel agent and ask her to stop misinforming her clients.

Lets be clear.....You have Bars....and BARS.

Ocean View Bar is there most of the time to serve drinks to the buffet guests.....nope, not going there for my pre dinner drinks or after dinner for that matter.   not really a bar as much as a service station.

Sunset bar outside and Yes, you CAN smell the smoke from smoking section.....Nope, not a useful bar for many.

Magic Carpet --Outside, again who wants to get windblown before or after dinner?

Cafe A Bacio.....Limited alcoholic beverages, my experience...and service takes time for them to run to other bars etc, depending on order.

Club bar......Loud....Not going before or after dinner.  Who wants that noise?

Casino bar?  With the TV's blaring down sporting events?  nope.

So I am now down to 3 bars I would frequent at any given time (Depending what Edens got going on, could be 2).....NOT many at all for a ship holding 2500+People.   To each their own however much of the negative feedback I have received is the lack of bars and long wait times for drinks.....not something I am looking forward to.

Good Job that Travel agent gave an honest opinion and saved their customer what could have been an annoying vacation.

Safe sails all!

Good morning, everyone ~ a few reminders about posting in this thread.  Edge is a very hot topic so I'd like to see the discussion continue.  However, PLEASE remember to follow our Community Guidelines that you agreed to abide by when posting.  Sarcastic, nasty posts towards other members are not permitted.

Another item that isn't permitted is the copying and posting graphics from other websites that are copyrighted.  Feel free to post a link but refrain from copying and embedding graphics here.

Finally, I'm sailing next week on Edge and have read many of the comments posted throughout our boards with great interest.  I'll be sharing my experience when we return.

Thanks for your cooperation regarding this thread.

Thanks, Anne! I just want to make sure that it is okay to post a link to another Cruise Critic thread that has graphics like the one I posted above (the new CC links come up with a picture sometimes - I forgot to change it to a link only and I couldn't figure out how to change it later). Thanks for your help. 🙂

Have a wonderful cruise! I'm looking forward to seeing how you like the Edge!! 🙂

Yep, that's fine, Marilyn!  No problem posting links that come up with pictures.  The challenge is when folks "copy and paste" text and graphics.  🙂  I know it can get confusing.  Thanks for asking.

I'm still looking forward to our time on Edge.  I've always been a believer of not forming opinions on something until I've tried it.  The great thing is if we don't care for something, we can choose to do something different next time.  Choices are good thing!  Thanks again for all the time you spent sharing your experiences on Edge with us.

Good attitude! We have cruised on ships where we had a wonderful cruise, but moved on to other ships because they better met our personal desires or were a better value. They are all still out there sailing so must be they appealed to others.

I'm looking forward to 7 wonderful nights on the Edge starting 3 weeks from today!!  Our huge roll call is excited and we are eager to show the ship to friends we haven't seen in a while - they are also very excited about our cruise!  🙂

Thanks for explaining the copying and posting!

Anne, the Edge is so different, but a beautiful ship! In our experience the food was wonderful and the service was the best.

We hope you have a wonderful cruise!

We board Edge 2 weeks from today.  Looking forward to forming our own opinions, and I will post after we return from Silhouette (which is right after Edge).  Will consider what we have seen here and take it all into consideration.  May be "one and done" but we'll see.  Honest opinions are always welcome in our book.

Can't wait to hear a comparison of your cruises as I am looking at Silhouette cruises (and haven't been on her since she was brand new). 🙂

Anne, have a great cruise!  When you return I would love for you to post the dailies.  I'd love to compare them to the Dec 9th cruise to see what if any changes Celebrity has made to the programming and activities in the last few weeks.

  • 1 year later...

I'm booked on the Celebrity Apex (same class as the Edge) in cabin 10274 (S1) which is a corner Aft-Balcony. This room is on the 10th floor. Does anyone know if the noise coming from deck 14 (pool deck and Oceanview Bar) are able to be heard while in your cabin on deck 12?

I want to get the corner aft suite on deck 12 but I'm worried about the noise. If anyone has any experience, I would appreciate the insight.

Thanks!
