...if you don't like it you can always drive, take a greyhound, or take a train. Of course a greyhound or train are more expensive then buying an airline ticket and in many cases so is driving on your own.

Exactly the point we have been trying to make, now you understand, thank you.  This is the airlines attitude, forget about making a better product, being prepared, etc....  The attitude is if you dont like it, dont fly.  Not that it is a secret but proof positive the airlines just dont care.  Yes we finally agree with one another.

Well it is a free country and there's no right in the Constitution to air travel. The airlines generally do what they can to make air travel as comfortable as possible with a cost balance. If you are unhappy with it you have every right to not fly. It's not an attitude, it's part of living in a free country. Customer service scores have increased considerably compared to 10-15 years ago. That's airlines investing in their product and making it a better travel experience for customers. It wouldn't matter if an airline offered you a free charter flight...you'd still complain about it! That's just how you are. I see customer feedback on a daily basis and a vast majority is positive feedback about our product. Some of the complaints are service failures and some are actually quite ridiculous! Everything you've said is subjective to your own opinion but facts and statistics say otherwise. If it was 80 and sunny outside you'd be the one complaining about the one small cloud in the sky...it is what it is. I'll reiterate, if flying sucks so much for you then you're free to travel using other means. It really is your choice.

If so , just exchange crews ?

Hate it when OP just disappears .

Didn't disappear.... ran to catch a boat and then had horrible internet connection while out on vacation at sea.

Wondering the same thing, but think they did, because otherwise they would be somewhere where there is the internet and would have let us know.  If their plane landed at 2, they should have gotten their luggage, a taxi and been to the ship on time, before the ramp went up.

So NCL actually handled the situation very well. The reps on the phone however, did a horrible job. My biggest complaint with NCL that I see over and over from others as well is that the customer support reps on the phone are filled with misinformation and passengers get different info depending on who they speak to and at what time of day.

The phone reps were adamant about telling everyone that the last shuttle from the airport to the port left at 2pm, and if we were not on it we were on our own to fight over the first few cabs we could find (there was about 25 total passengers between the Jade & other NCL ship). If we were not cleared through check-in and boarding the ship by 3pm they would close the doors and leave without us, but rest assured, they would get us to the next port of call.

Finally landed in MIA at 1:54pm, off the plane and chasing each other to the tram for baggage claim, finally made it to baggage claim at 2:18pm based on my texts back home giving the family updates. When our large group of 'stranded' passengers arrived at the right carousel there were 4 NCL reps waiting for us all. They quickly assured us that if they were still there, we had a ride to the boat and the boat would be waiting for us. We didn't have our bags and get to board the shuttle until nearly 2:40pm.

First stop was for the other NCL ship where most of the travelers got off, and then last stop was for the 7 of us going on the Jade. There was no lines anywhere, which I suppose was nice, but we had to schlep our luggage on board ourselves as there was no one around to help with that either. Missed the muster drill as we didn't physically get onto the boat until after 3:15pm. Other travelers told us they were instructed to go to a make-up drill, but we never received any info about that - so technically we never had a muster drill and would be doomed if we truly had any issue.

So long story short - NCL handled the situation very well, but their phone reps were horrible and caused unnecessary stress and anxiety for everyone. They really need to rethink their policy about letting people fly in a day earlier if they choose to, or have some say in which flights or airlines they use.

Sailing12Away, thanks for the update.  It certainly would have been less stressful for all of you, if NCL's communication was better, something that has been their issue for years...bad communication.

I hope your cruise was more relaxing and enjoyable than your experience getting to the ship.

That just about sums up a lot of the issues that people have with NCL.
