Quest Dry Dock March 2019

As there are pictures of Quest’s dry dock beginning to appear on social media I thought I would share some that I’ve seen so far. Hopefully it will give a feeling of just how extensive any changes will be.

First is a shot of Quest arriving in the Sembawang Shipyards Singapore.

Next are changes to the shop area on Deck5.

Hi Riocca, Thanks for sharing the pictures you're seeing on other platforms! 💕

Hi Dean, yes the Casino is being removed and replaced by The Den (the existing bar stays).  As on the Azamara Pursuit the Tour Desk and Cruise Again Desk will be moved up to Deck 5 into the old Casino space. This layout has proven very popular as a well-used public space.

On Deck 4, where the Tour Desk area and a sitting area are now, we will build six new Oceanview Staterooms on the Port Side.

The Quest's dry dock officially began today, March 22, and she will be back in service in one-week, on March 29.

Hi John....how are you? Thanks for the photo's.

Do you know....are they putting the extra OV cabins in on Deck 4 on Quest like they did on on Pursuit?

Lottie

Bonnie posted that they were. See above.

i wonder who my captain and HD and CD will be in Sept.

Hi Lottie,

We are well thank you, yes they are Pursuitizing Quest as Richard Twynam put it.

When we were told last year what was being planned for the dry dock in a week we thought it ambitious but there’s a lot of faith in the Singapore shipyard after they completed Quest’s last refit within the scheduled time.

Looking at the schedule it should be Captain Pelle and HD Philip through September and October.

Not too many pictures coming from Quest at the moment, but then it’s not the most prolific of the ships on social media. With just 48 hours of dry dock time left hopefully there will be a few reveals, and maybe some surprises, soon as I understand all is going to schedule.

There is one unusual shot of Quest today.

Does Azamara plan to make the same changes to the Journey.  If so, have they set a time for the ship to go into Drydock.

This was asked a while ago and I think the answer was yes but the timing is not yet decided. Hopefully Bonnie can clarify.

What's going on in the pool area?

They often use it as a storage area for materials during a dry dock. From the photos that’s what it looks like.

Certainly being well used for that at the moment, wouldn’t like to be sunbathing there at the moment although you can still get to the bar.

There’ also a video of the “new” dance floor in the Cabaret  Lounge, unfortunately I can’t copy it here.

I just found out that they are doing something new there.

Behold the Pool Bar! We’re trying a new look here on the Quest, inspired by the ruin pubs of Budapest! #DryDock #AzamaraQuest #ExploreFurther

Edit - That could be a joke.  Ruin bars.  I suppose once the cleanup is done, nothing will look like ruins,

Well Quest is out of dry dock and ready to start her next cruise, no pictures as yet but probably there are more pressing issues like looking after passengers than posting on social media.

I’m sure that we will be getting pictures of the changes in time, however looking at the latest deck plans and thinking of the early pictures there appears to be some major remodelling of the shop area which will be interesting to see when we do get pictures.

This is the current deck plan of Journey which was identical to Quest pre dry dock:

Now this is from the latest version of Quest’s deck plan, quite different:

also we all know not to take a cruise post dry dock on any ship ever.

Whilst many people know this, there are people who were booked on this cruise before the dry dock was scheduled and were booked through countries that do not enjoy the generous cancellation options others have.  And the question also is how does someone know the cruise has just come out of dry dock, its not like the websites or travel agents tell you.  I bet if you polled most travel agents here they would not have a clue.  So whilst the post was a bit of a reaction, lets not be critical of  all the 500+ passengers currently onboard

I do understand what you are saying. Yet, many times we all notice a gap in the calander. For me that means two things a charter or drydock.

yes, I realize about the fees to cancel. But not sure if I could not cancel  if I would complain. Not having the shops open no big deal. If  the pool was closed or the windows bear I might be upset.

I do respect what you wrote. Thank you for showing the flip side of the coin.
