Oh we loved Jaime's, it was all so good, fun and a TON of food. I can't remember the specifics but I remember we couldn't finish it was so much food. Definitely going to do Jaime's again in Sept. I remember a meat, cheese, bread platter for an app. that was incredible.

calamari (best I've ever had)

pasta (I don't get fresh pasta very often, although I wasn't personally a fan of the shrimp with the tomato sauce, so I just ate the pasta)

lemon meringue cheesecake & brownie (best desserts we had of the cruise by far, and some of my lifetime favorites too, but super rich - we took them to go and had them a few hours later on the balcony, which was an awesome decision - they skipped the ice cream on the brownie and put them onto one plate, and it fit in the fridge fine)

We actually liked Jamie's much more than Chops on our last trip (in May, on Ovation), both food and service.

I often start with the bruschetta but also like the plank then ask for the garlic bread (i.e. 2 starters) to be served with the main of the burger. The garlic bread is lot's of garlic on a brioche bun that is very soft. I am often full by the time desert comes around but when I am still hungry I had done the brownies and the cheesecake but I have also wandered down to the Patiserie to spend an extra $2.50 on a slice of Red Velvet Cake or Carrot Cake.

Is Jamie's still under the Jamie Oliver banner was just wondering what will happen now he has lost all of his restaurants, will it be rebranded ??
He lost all his restaurants? Are you confusing him with Mario Batali? I don't think Jaime Oliver is any trouble.

Never mind, sorry, I didn't see the news, I missed that somehow. That is a crazy story. 1,300 employees. The restaurant business is tough I guess. Wow that is a crazy story.

This was a quote from the Guardian two weeks ago.

All but three of Jamie Oliver’s 25 UK restaurants have closed, with the loss of 1,000 jobs, after the business called in administrators.

"It has been a challenging few weeks for Jamie Oliver, after his restaurant chain collapsed into administration in May, leaving 1,3000 [sic} jobs at risk. But the celebrity chef has received some positive news, after his final three restaurants have been saved from closure.

Food-to-go specialist group SSP, which owns Upper Crust and Ritazza Coffee, has bought Jamie’s three outlets at Gatwick Airport – Jamie Oliver’s Diner, Jamie’s Coffee Lounge, and Jamie’s Italian. The rescue deal will save 250 jobs, and means Jamie will continue to have four of his eateries open to the public in the UK, as his Fifteen Cornwall restaurant is run independently of his group as a charity."

Yeah sorry, I missed that. That is a nutty story. I wonder how something like that even happens.

I loved the truffle cream pasta.  It is very rich, bur ooooooohhhhhh  so good!  I also liked the burger at lunch.  The burger is huge and there is no way I could eat anything else with it.

I also enjoyed the arancini.  At first I thought the mint flavor in it was too strong, but I got used to it and ordered it a couple of times.

Meat plank! And no matter what you end up ordering, you will be stuffed at the end of your meal!!

Yes on that. I have said the next time we eat there I'm going on a completely empty stomach because you get so much food and I couldn't even finish. It was so good too.
