Are children allowed in the Bars on Azura?

I am going to take my 13 year old granddaughter on Azura. She is very well behaved and mature for her age and already well travelled. Would she be allowed in the Bars with me for a quiet drink in the evening? I like The Planet Bar or Blue Bar best. It's not something I have ever thought of before. Many thanks.

Absolutely no problem and I am sure the waiters will be very happy to serve her with a variety of non alcoholic cocktails, our eldest granddaughter's favourite was a Shirley Temple.

The mocktails are fantastic for any age. Michelle's favourite is a pineapple pussyfoot, although she is also partial to a coco colada and she is 50 next week...

Thanks both...that's great. She will be thrilled with a non alcoholic cocktail and watching the video's in The Planet Bar and Granny will be happy with a G&T!

Hendricks perfect serve, highly recommended.

I know Andy. I may have had one or two in the past! 🤣

I think P&O have the best Gin selection of any cruise line and of course....the perfect Fever Tree tonic to go with it!

It’s a bad bad thing. I am hooked on an Anderson’s perfect serve, with pink grapefruit. What I like is that even if the bar you are in does not usually stock what you want they get it for you. When it first came out it was only in the blue bar but I prefer the glass house. A waiter went to get on from the BB the first night. By the third night the glass house had its own supply.

It's a funny thing.

I very rarely drink gin on land, but can't wait to get to Andersons or equivalent to get it ordered.

Perfect nightcap for me when I am full of food and beer.

As far as I am aware the only places in which she will not be allowed are the Retreat and the casino.

Also the Planet Bar on deck 18 is adult only after 10pm.

Is it? No problem because she will probably be having a hot chocolate and going to bed about then after a busy day. She is so excited at the thought of proper mocktails!

Michelle took a liking to the cherry gin with lemonade, it turned out it was the tonic she didn't like.

I think it best to avoid sitting at the actual bar itself.  Anywhere within the bar area is fine and staff will come and take orders.  I have had the situation with my daughter in the past at this age and generally they can buy things themselves including drinks but only non-alcoholic ones as one might expect.  Sometimes children's cruise cards are not capable of being used for any purchases and if that is the case you go to reception and get it authorised. You can, if you are the credit card holder backing children's cruise cards check the account and get print outs from reception on request.

People tend to get annoyed if younger children run around in bars after 6pm. My daughter from the age of about 12 was always made very welcome if she was sitting with me having a quiet drink. She really liked the Mocktails, and the adult atmosphere.

The problem of children running around is down to their adult companions not bothering to stop them.  We have taken a 3 and a 4 year old on cruises both were warned by their parents before we left home that they were to behave and were to do whatever we told them.  I was proud to see how well behaved they were and would take them again.  Children of all ages are always made welcome by the staff on P&O.  Like your daughter our 3 year old grand-daughter loved the mocktails, particularly the pussy foot and 6 years on still asks us occasionally when can she go on another cruise with us because it was "her best ever holiday".
