Craziest thing You've ever seen happen on a Cruiseship?

Carnival ship around 2014.  Little boy 4 or 5 years old was taunting some family in a hot tub.  Had the appearance of large family reunion. The hot tub had 5 or 6 adults just enjoying the hot tub.  The kid was kind of getting annoying, walking up the stairs to the hot tub, making faces, talking like a bratty 5 year old, running back to the loungers then repeating the drill.  I was close enough to see the antics but far enough away so it didn't really impact me.

Next trip up the stairs the kids reaches the top of the stairs, turns around, drops his swimsuit and proceeds to poop in the hot tub.  I have never seen a hot tub clear out so fast.  One second they were all relaxing, siping drinks and in a split second they were all in motion, climbing over the sides, getting the he.. out of that tub in record time.

That tub was closed for the rest of the day.  I had been in both hot tubs in that area a couple of times before that.  After that I couldn't use any hot tub on the ship.

Exactly why I do not swim on ships or use the hot tubs.

We once had a CD who kept referring to girls wearing budgie Smaug goers till it was pointed out that shemales do not have a budgie, she turned all shades of red when the penny dropped.

No budgies but possibly other wildlife,😋

Hope the kid was taken to task via his family.

I was thinking it sounds like the family needs to be taken to task if the child was allowed to do all he did before lowering his swimsuit.

This seems like a case of the child being ignored and him making darn sure he got some attention: one way or another.

I only sit in hot tubs in the Serenity area.  There's no one pooping in the hot tub as a sick joke, at least.  I hope that sorry excuse for a human being got a spanking, and its family was kicked off the ship at the next port.  Well, when you see people sitting in the hot tub for hours, drinking beer after beer, and never getting out, it raises a question of its own, but meh.

Speaking of jokes... (to lighten the mood)

A lifeguard blows a whistle, and shouts to a man he sees.

"Sir, you are being ejected from the premises for urinating in the pool."

"But many people urinate in the pool, and you're not kicking them out."

"Seriously?  You were urinating from the diving board!"

Agreed, I think the family should be made to pay for the clean up of the hot tub at least.

I don't know, I think you did a good job.  I'm kind of speechless!

It's a gray area, and I wasn't thinking of speedos when I made my post.  While they're not unacceptable, they're far from mainstream in North America.  The only people I've seen wearing them are professional swimmers (who need them to minimize water drag) and European tourists.  If you're looking for a broad answer, I'll say "too brief".

There is another group that traditionally wears them in the US.

The funny thing is that, in the recent past, in Europe, that same group tended to swim trunks, while most men work speedo types. 😄

I wear them all the time, although I normally wear board shorts over them for better sun protection on my legs. I will also wear speedo's as underwear, especially in hot humid climates (SE Asia) as they do not sweat  and cause chaffing, they also wash and dry really well.

You might want to try Duluth Trading Company Buck Naked underwear.

And just who decides?

What is rude to some, is hilarious to others.

Like defining porn.

A shirt can be both rude and hilarious at the same time.  It's about respect for others; something many Millennials have apparently not been taught.  What is appropriate in a small gathering of friends who know each other well is not necessarily appropriate on a ship with children and those more conservative.

And porn is for losers.  It's not difficult to define.

Only Millenials? You need to get out more.

I scrolled back to double check before I posted that she looked like she was a bit long in the tooth to be called a Millenial, and the picture has been removed!  It stayed so long, I was surprised, but the mods have finally caught up.

Not *only* Millenials, but it seems to be something that is pervasive in that age group.

I am a native Floridian and trust me, rudeness and lack of respect for others is VERY common amongst the over 65 set.

Unfortunately it is across generations and across countries. It seems to be becoming more common. Are we all becoming more entitled and demanding?

Though luckily there are lots of good people as well. Here in Australia we have witnessed that recently with the outpouring of help, kindness and donations to those suffering due to the fires.

Then come up with a defensible legal definition.

The courts have been unable to do so.

I would argue that any one who can possibly wear a shirt, can also wear an offensive (to someone) shirt. Some people will be offended no matter what it is.

Exactly.

As I tried to make a joke of earlier, as a former member of the USAF, USN shirts offend me.  😄

Not really, I grew up in a USN family.  Now US ARMY on the other hand.....  😄

And yet, for me, it is usually not what is on the shirt but who is in it (or not in one at all) that often offends me.
