They do not change prices... they change availability and price buckets and even bucket - prices.... totally different system! 🙄

They must have many many buckets then.  Maybe one for each $5 fare change.

They have price - bucket A, B, C.... all of them have fixed prices - you can look them up.... now they decide which buckets are filled with x seats... 🙄

JetBlue does this because they will actually tell you how many seats are left  at a particular price as they sell down.

All airlines do that...

Fare buckets for United, :

Y, B, M, E, U, H, Q, V, W, S, T, L, K, G, N

Mind you each fare bucket will have at least 5-10 fares depending on restrictions and times ... 🙄

That's about right for the lowest buckets....

Not sure RCI has such a predetermined price structure as the airlines do.... so claiming an error might be legally challenging! 🤔🙄

So you are saying that the prices for these fare buckets don't change?

Plus, what legal entity is RC running under?

No... they introduce new fares to each bucket BUT these are pre-determined and have to be submitted internationally to many countries they want to sell tickets in.... so these fares will not change by the minute rather weekly at best ...while the availability of the seats IN that bucket can change within seconds...🙄

What about fares for flights totally within the US, do the airlines have to file fare changes with anyone?

They will want to sell these flights and fares in the EU and other countries....also used to make connection-fares....

If they would restrict these to US - POS sales only and no connections ... I guess not... 🤔

Have never seen this.... especially since most will have revenue agreements with EU partners.... 👍

Good question, I also am curious if anyone who got the $18/day deal has been able to call in and buy down to the refreshment pkg for a cabin mate?

The drink package was less than the refreshment package so why would one want to pay more?

I was thinking Southwest, which I don't believe has agreements with any other airlines.

Are cans new because we were charged for a can of coke?  I ordered it in the main dinning room by mistake.  I used the word can of diet coke when I just wanted a diet coke. I was charged $4.99.

Not that I know of, I had lots of cans of Fanta Orange sodas this March on the Anthem, I would order them in the coffee shop and I would also get cans in the morning in the buffet drink cart.

If I was lucky enough to get the drink package for $18 I would suck it up ( no pun intended) and pay for the second guest in the room. I'm sure the second guest would drink soft drinks water and coffee or tea if they don't drink alcohol. Fresh orange juice was on the breakast menu for $8.25 so it adds up quickly.

In our case we get coffee and lounge drinks anyway,  plus Laura gets drinks in the casino. She doesn't drink sodas. I'm sure we will keep it

I'm assuming the person at Royal Caribbean who made this mistake is no longer working for Royal Caribbean!😀

I would not assume that.  Royal has already proven that their tolerance for ineptitude and incompetence is formidable. Especially in their IT dept.

I wonder how many people besides those who follow cruise critic were able to take advantage of the error or even knew it was an error.

It was big on FB. I got a text from my TA

Interesting that a whole lot of ships and sail dates could all get posted at once but in order to stop remove the special pricing it’s like they had to do each ship and or sailing individually.

It was about 11pm that I bought my last package.

They were fixing them 1 at a time. I tried Jewel around 9pm and it was no good

Yeah, I found that interesting too.

Oh I know what he is asking. And there have been many responders that said, "Well, I don't really drink, but for such a great price..."

I don't care if they share it or not. We do drink and we both purchase a package on cruises. :classic_rolleyes: I am just annoyed. And thought that I had gotten over it. But "follow ups" just annoy me again, because it just feels like you are rubbing it in.

Not really, I am honestly curious. Like I said above, I'll probably keep it, but one our trips is a B2B. The pkg still costs $200+

Laura may get burned out

They barely wanted to honor the "glitch", nothing will change because of it.

I meant to just let those who bought at $18 to opt out, not the rest of you😇
