Ok, I've been lurking for a few days and this is my first sail in but I keep seeing "no WP" or WP woke up. What is WP?

Webcam person--the dude(tte) controlling the webcam and doing the zooms.  I think they work from a central location in Ft. Lauderdale and monitor a bunch of webcams but am not sure of that.

We sailed her for the first time in December, San Diego to FLL - she seemed to be in fine shape and we enjoyed her and the crew.

Thanks, but no Alaska for me this year (although may hop on Amsterdam's last one in Sept).  Going on Volie's repositioning thru Canal to FLL.

The Volendam is a fine ship.  I first boarded her on 11/11/01 and have sailed on her many times

Well I was on the Amsterdam yesterday (still am I guess). first time in Juneau, with the cloud cover most/all of the airborn excursions cancelled. Since we had a glacier floatplane and no plan B, made for a long day. Did have great crab at Tracy’s.

Not surprised everything was grounded... two years ago in Ketchikan our pilot, who owns the company and has been flying up there since she was a teenager, said that the cruise lines cancel if the ceiling isn’t a minimum of 1,500ft and judging by what we saw on the Juneau webcam, it was lower than that all day.  Guess you’ll just have to go back up to Alaska someday.  😉
