How Often Do The Entertainment Production Shows Change?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know how frequently Royal change the Production shows on their ships?

We sailed on Ovation in Jan 2016 and they had Pixels, Live Love Legs and The Beautiful Dream.

We are sailing Ovation again in April 2020 and from what I have read on this board recently the shows haven't changed since.

Seems a long time to keep the same entertainment.

Minimum of five years.

Sometimes 10 years or longer.

Anyone know when/if they were last changed on Serenade?

Was on Serenade last month.  The main production show, VIBE*ology, seemed pretty dated.  I would not be surprised if it has been present since the ship launched in 2001.  😁

Is there any place where we can find a list of current shows by ship without hunting through reviews?  I have cruises coming up on Jewel (October 19) and Anthem (Feb 20).  Thanks!

Jewel:  West End to Broadway, City of Dreams, Tango Buenos Aires

Anthem: We Will Rock You, The Gift

Thanks --but going back to my question, is there a place where we can find the current list of ships & shows?  It's not on the RCL site.

Not on any RC site.

Oasis has worn out CATS. Time for a new production.

I got got an Email from Royal hi-light the shows on Allure/Harmony/Symphony but only gave a one line note on Oasis and CATS. Hope that’s a sign of what’s to come.

Get over it, CATS is staying.

It's a beloved Broadway musical,  and where is Oasis headed. 🤔🐱🐱

Oasis of Dreams and Frozen in Time.

They are both great

Overall, she has some of the best shows in the fleet

Just seems odd to me that they would feature the other three but not Oasis and CATS.

Plenty of other Broadway shows on other ships not mentioned at all, so I dont get your point.

The article says Tony Award WINNING Shows.  As far as I can tell, that would be CATS and Hairspray. Mama Mia and Grease had none. Same with Saturday Night Fever and We Will Rock You.

You know ho bad Royal is with their website.  While you show one that doesn’t feature it prominently this one features it first.

I just thought it odd Royal’s latest email promoting the shows presented in this manner. Mine came yesterday. When was your from?

It’s currently on their entertainment website.  Don’t forget that they were also doing auditions for Cats members in June or July.  If they were replacing Cats they would hardly be holding auditions.
